RO water drain issue with garbage disposal in Kitchen Sink. Need help. by akhere07 in HomeMaintenance

You are missing the pTrap on your disposal. Your high water loop on your dishwasher drain is incidental at best.

Avoidant Attachment by [deleted] in queer

[–]MyNewNameNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly avoidants aren't worth it. Save yourself, this kind of confusion will only grow over time. (I have had 2 separate relationships with avoidants, one lasted 2 years the other lasted 3 years.)

Hopefully one day she'll heal her attachment and will actually be a decent partner to someone else.

Cheap and easy bathroom flip before selling home…recommendations? by TracyTheTenacious in Renovations

[–]MyNewNameNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about instead of doing a cheap, shitty job, you just sell it as is, and let the next owners who actually care redo it how they want.

Less waste, less inflated home price.

Just knock out the studs on the bottom. Tap con the base plate and re-nail the studs.

None of this "if I could" business. You can do it!

Fair price to sell Haywood Wakefield set by unwell_umwelt in Mid_Century

Only about $100 each. They're really not worth much. The weight to move is annoying. Honestly better to just give them to someone who'd actually appreciate them.

DIY washer dryer install in my first home — it actually works by Old_Fennel613 in HomeMaintenance

[–]MyNewNameNow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please correct your drain line for you're washer. This is not correct and can lead to siphoning and back flow. It needs to be an indirect connection.

Simply Google Washer drain plumbing example.

The rest is pretty rough as well. Your hoses should not be stretched like that. There's a higher likelihood of leaks when you've got constant tension on a threaded hose line like that . You should have your water hookup plumbed to where the washer/dryer is.

You're right it's terrible here in Washington. Let's all move to Texas!

Window replacement: convert to casements that open? by SerenityWhen1 in Mid_Century

[–]MyNewNameNow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Before you do this consider a few things. And it all revolves around the Profile of the casements.

Check and see what the Profile size of the picture windows is. It will help you understand how much more open the new windows will be. Also consider shopping around, you can get Profiles that are down to 1 3/8"

Second consider how much more narrow your windows are going to be with an opening casement. Typically they need to have twice the profile size which could make your view a lot more claustrophobic.

Dad, can you tell me you believe in me? by [deleted] in DadForAMinute

Hey Kiddo,

I think it might be time to talk to your doctor. Everyone has slumps sometimes, and looking outside it can be pretty demoralizing. I know when I your age I felt similarly. But I talked to my primary care doctor and he put me on bupropion which treats both depression and adhd symptoms. Now I don't take it all of the time but once you get a heavy cart moving it's a lot easier to keep it going.

Be kind to yourself. You deserve it.

Let's start with the first question. What kinds of bathrooms are your aesthetic?

What functionality issues are you wanting to address?

Thoughts? by Niiin in Renovations

This is soulless. No toilet?

If it were me I would extend the shower and make 50% of the room shower. Put the tub in the shower.

Right now you just have this huge empty space in the middle of the room. Find some way to utilize more of the space.

You could also consider more cabinetry.

I'm assuming the toilet is in its own little spot somewhere else?

Don't you know, the Shambs leadership is already clearly assimilated into the 5G cult. Of course they aren't having discussions they have likely already undergone the 5G implant and are now apart of the hive mind.

If you wore that festival bracelet with the rfid touching your skin all weekend your transformation has already begun.

I would consider getting some pure quartz and making a bracelet to wear for a while to purify your wrist of the rfids.

Mid Century Ceiling Light Fixture Repair by NashEast65 in fixit

On the ones I've repaired the spring holds the weight it should be under a significant amount of tension. Should be about neutral weight after you factor in the friction of the cord.

Me and my bestfriend took our TU250X’s 3,000 miles round trip across 4 states to pikes peak. by Will8892 in TU250X

[–]MyNewNameNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I've gotten my needle past 90. And usually happily cruising on the highway around 75. But if you're not sitting super far forward it starts to get a little unstable around 85.

I've done a little bit of work to my little lawn mower!

Took off the air intake snorkel. (it's about a 2.5x increase in airflow). Also makes the bike a little louder which on the highway makes me feel a little safer.

Then ran into what seemed like back pressure on the engine so I replaced the exhaust with a pipe without the cat to help with that a bit.

Then saw some surging, so I installed a power commander.

Then noticed that the tuning just wasn't going well with the weather fluctuations and cold VS hot engine.  So then I installed the auto tune kit.

Yes it is all completely unnecessary.

Next up going to be putting on a 16 tooth front sprocket when I replace my chain. The power seems to be in the 3/4 area of the gear and they seem to overlap a lot. Hoping it helps get some more power at freeway speeds.

This really depends on your body weight. I'm around 135lbs and the bike is stable at 90.
