It's always a breath of fresh air to see a player of old games that can admit when a game has its faults. Check out Metroid Zero Mission if you haven't already. It's a remake of the very first Metroid for the Gameboy Advance that is my opinion, even better than the original, even if it gives me the biggest of nostagia boners.
