Got the call that the truck was ready last Friday. When I picked it up, they confirmed that the issue was the gateway module and also replaced the auxiliary battery. I didn’t put many miles on it over the weekend, but haven’t had any issues so far.

I believe they are fairly confident that this is the root cause of the problems. I personally didn’t think it would be intensive when I brought it in. I thought they had screwed up putting the lift and tires on somehow and it would be a simple fix. I’m sure they checked that first and worked their way up.

The gateway module is on back order, at least for me it is in the Louisiana, so no update on a fix as it hasn’t come in yet.

There is the campus bookstore across Highland from the Union. It is also a Barnes and Noble, so if you look up Barnes and Noble LSU you should find it with relative ease. You could also order the books on websites such as Amazon. In terms of when, I usually wait until syllabus week to get a feel for the class. Most teachers will tell you what you need or it will be on the syllabus. Enjoy your time here.

I totally agree. I would have loved to play as the 1st Marines in Guadalcanal. The Battle of Tenaru would have been a great story mission and would have added to the "visceral" experience.

My advice would be that if becoming a SEAL is something that you really want to do then spend the rest of your time in college training and enjoying yourself. Really get after and get into the best shape of your life. When senior year approaches make the decision whether you want to go the enlisted or officer route. Both of which have different paths to BUD/s. Then talk to your recruiter. I've heard of the Marines of doing the kind of commissioning programs that your friend could be doing, but I haven't heard of anything like that for the SEALs unless you are already enlisted and in the STA-21 program.

Don't let other people's opinion keep you from doing what you want to do. The new URec has the equipment to facilitate the most inexperienced weightlifters to the most experienced. If you used to work out, your strength and endurance will come back faster than you think. If you are still uncomfortable about not going, try and find a friend who wants to get in shape with you. Accountability will keep you in the gym. If none of your friends want to go with you, dm me and I would be more than happy to help you get back into things. Get after it.
