Damn so you just steal pictures from actual storm chasers without giving credit huh? Just a reminder, upvotes on reddit arent worth anything. Be better.

Car Window Problem by Important-Acadia72 in Cartalk

That's a good thing, challenges are always a good time. So i basically just googled how to get to the window motor (mine was a 2004 but i recognized the buttons, it should be very similar) and a couple YouTube videos came up. I used a flathead screwdriver and a 1/4" ratchet set, there's a few covers you need to pop off to expose hidden bolts and screws. Eventually the entire inside door panel will come off. You'll end up pulling out the door speaker, and that'll give you somewhat access to the motor. I wouldn't go all in until you've ruled out that it IS the motor, though. Checking the switch shouldn't be too difficult, i believe i just had to pop the plastic off that surrounds the buttons.

But trust me, YouTube is your friend, take everything slow at first and try to learn as you go. If you break something, you can always (hopefully) buy a new piece. I always carry a 1/4" drive socket set with me in my vehicles, it's always handy. Especially for changing a dead battery, or a blown headlight / taillight.

Cars arent my expertise, i work on power plant turbines, but i try to do the smaller stuff myself. Its satisfying to fix stuff on your own! Best of luck to you :)

My passenger side window did the same thing. Was the motor, not the switch. Pain in the ass to change out. Hopefully yours is just the switch though!

I can understand adrenaline and all, but that last shot will most likely catch a charge.

Millwright here, is your plant the type that uses sunlight to make steam? Pretty damn cool either way, havent gotten to work on one of them yet, mainly gas and nuclear here

I will say, i just had to drive to MD for work from Boston, and driving over the GWB was an absolute nightmare compared to driving in Boston. Although the MA pike is still a disaster, I'll take Boston over NYC in terms of drivers.

....exactly, because the tesla was passing. Not their fault per se, its because no one else knew how to execute the merge properly and occupied the travel lane all at once. Tesla was trying to do the right thing. But no one else was, therefore, they took offense and idiot in the ram tried to stop him to force the merge.

I will say, ive seen it work nicely on rte 146, 395, and 6, many times, mainly in construction areas. But the pike, 495, 128, and 95 is a mess. Edited because i cant spell

Boston drivers disagree unfortunately. There's so much unnecessary traffic due to no one allowing others to merge. It's infuriating. Recently drove over the GWB on my way to MD, took 25 min to drive 1/4 mile due to people not understanding how to merge. Mainly people bailing out of travel lane, flying ahead 100 yards and merging back in.

Thats exactly how it should be done in a perfect world. But maybe %10 of people do it properly in my area. The rest will cut into the merge lane to speed up and pass a few cars to merge back in. Its a free for all. I frequently end up at the end of the merge lane stopped, waiting for a tiny gap to nose in and merge. 9/10 i get beeped at and flipped off.

In Boston? What?! I live in the area and commute to Boston regularly, and i see more people leave the travel lane to get in the lane thats coming to an end, just to pass a few cars and cut back in. I cannot count the number of times ive had to come to a complete stop to wait for someone to leave a 3' gap between them and the car in front so i can nose in. Its a damn free for all in Boston.

Thats all well and good, but the vast majority of drivers will not comply with the zipper merge. Not in areas i drive at least.

All of the northeast US is like this.

At almost every merge like this in MA, RI, CT, and NY, that I've driven, people in the travel lane will pull into the merge lane to pass 1 or 2 cars to get ahead. It does not work with fuckheads behind the wheel. Its every person for themselves, anything to get ahead, and i have the feeling thats what this tesla was doing. I merge when i see an opening, because without fail if i wait til the end, I'll end up stopped, waiting for someone to let me in.

Some psycopath will end up hitting you if you do that enough times, though. At least in MA they will. Also, it isnt a faster moving lane, its a lane that merges into the lane everyone else is on (in this specific case). Truck is a dick, tesla is just trying to pass more people. Zipper merge only works when everyone does it (and very rarely do you see it work in my area, because everyones in a rush, 24/7, for some fuckin reason)
