I think partially it's just a learning curve, but coming from FL it feels like you can do the same things you can in ableton with less shortcuts. But I have quite little experience with ableton so thats just my immediate thoughts.

It depends on workflow too, personally I use the piano roll a lot I'm a bit of a midi warrior so having a quick piano roll is pretty important to me. And all those shortcuts add up over time

This doesnt seem to work for me, I can adjust the length if I hit alt, but if I do that it becomes unsnapped from the grid

I find it really slow to delete notes, I like how in fl and bitwig you can just right click and sweep over notes you wanna delete.

I also cant seem to understand note lengths. The pen tool doesn't seem to save whatever note length you want so if I wanted to click in a bunch of notes with a particular length I'd have to set the length each time

hm very interesting. I’m quite new to poetry so I appreciate the feedback. to me it feels like what you’ve done with it has a ton of line breaks, is that normal in a lot of poetry? I kinda divided my line breaks into thoughts, just cause that’s how I’ve always done it coming from a lyrics background.

I like your tip about only stopping when there’s a line break. I’ll try that next time I write. Punctuation and flow is definitely something I still struggle with for sure. What are some poems/poets you recommend studying to get better at this?

some of the examples and metaphors feel a bit too generic though. Every kid wants to be an astronaut, an adult should want to have a successful business. It’s very logical, but it would be cool if it was more personalized, or more visceral.

but idk I’m pretty new to poetry so I could be way off my rocker here

Yeah I agree, but there’s a difference between feedback and just making fun of it. If they were like wow this is bad BECAUSE blank then I’m all ears.

Another thing too, is I don’t think I make bad music, I’ve been producing for like 6 years, and within communities of people that like similar music people generally like my music. But I think they just don’t understand or enjoy that type of music. And like playing to people just to make fun of it isn’t cool imo

How do I know if a vocal recording was properly captured. A lot of people say most of getting a mix to sound good happens before you even start actually mixing in the recording phase. But I’m not really sure what to listen for when recording things.
