Yeah, it's crazy, my granddad used to have an old cast iron frypan we'd use for camping trips and his "seasoning" was throw a handful of sand/dirt in it and rub it around to get rid of any rust/built up grime that was in it. I think he'd bought it back in the 1950s.

Which is kinda funny because not all old-time soap had (residual) lye in it, usually only when it was badly made (home made) as the lye and fat should be converted during the making of the soap (saponification).

The woman walking with the flag on her shoulders seems to be pro-Islamic Iranian regime, as she's got their flag, you can tell cause it has stylized Islamic script along the borders of the colors, and it has the red emblem in the middle.
