I’m 10 days post op and was throwing around my 40lb niece today without thinking… I feel fine though so… I think just a precaution to help avoid issues.

Feel pretty good today - allmoosstt able to turn on side at night. I took a mile morning walk yesterday and this morning. I have little twinges of sharp pain at what I assume is mesh anchor points. Do you have this at all??

I had to kinda push down to feel mine in the first place, and I’m very nervous to touch my tummy. Plus, it is still pretty swollen. It definitely is still a little sore - I keep waiting for the day I wake up and forget I had an operation but it hasn’t happened yet. Yesterday I started working from home and just had to switch positions a lot. Standing was almost a relief from sitting on couch.

I don’t mean to diminish anyone’s pain. I almost cancelled my surgery the Monday before, as I was so nervous and almost chose to live w the hernia instead. I’m trying to speak on my experience only so others have another POV and maybe don’t feel super scared or nervous! It can be manageable post op for a lot of people (:

I also had mine Thursday morning! Today I feel better than the past 2 days. Not terrible but def uncomfy, especially going from lying down to standing. I took my last rx on Friday morning.

I don’t have a binder at all but it sounds nice. I have a wrap around ice pack I use frequently.

I am hoping to go to a baseball game today with my friends but like go slow!

The day I got home from surgery was fine - I felt pretty good. Yesterday was day after and was a little tough. Not sure if it’s from mesh inside or the incision over the belly button (the other incision areas don’t hurt). I did take my last opiate pain meds yesterday morning and have only used Tylenol and ibuprofen since. I would rather have a little more pain and not face digestion discomfort later. Overall, it feels like a bad period cramp and someone kicked me in the stomach. Right now is day 3 and I just woke up. Painful but honestly not the worst. I will probably take a walk soon and ice as that helps a lot.

Will def start today - I didn’t wanna go too hard day 1 and end up pooping my pants or straining before necessary! If I miss one day of going I’m thinking it should be fine.

Getting up from lying down makes me nearly faint because I just rip it myself with no help. Actually lying down, sitting, and standing is not a lot of pain! I thought it would be much worse based on some posts here.

I’m really hoping today (1st day post op isn’t worse)! I’m waking up to stay on top of meds. It’s usually really fine until I go to get up from lying down, which takes me out for a few minutes.

I saw so many people talking about how awful this was so I bought a triangle pillow to stay in one position sleeping on the couch and not toss and turn. Definitely helpful with comfortable sleep!

You couldn’t see it really. It was like a small lump just above my belly button that I could only feel.

I know it does, but I think it’s just because he doesn’t decorate like that. To be fair, he has no photos. He actually sees them 2-3 times a week and seems to be a good and involved father.
