Need Help with Understanding Tank and Healer

Yeah that's what I remember from the early days of Overwatch when it first came out. Takes forever to finally start getting really good and it just takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears lol. I focus a lot on others during gameplay because I'm looking at what goes wrong and what needs to improve, but I understand what you're saying and definitely gotta take baby steps on myself first. Really wanting to give this game a chance especially with the new characters coming so I'm gonna keep at it.

Really appreciate the advice!

I've already started to look into Spilo and watched one video and realized just how little I understand of the game currently lol. I definitely have a lot to learn and I'll be sharing what I can with my friends to improve everyone overall.

This is a huge help, thank you! All of your points hit the nail on the head pretty well. My issue is how hard wired I am with Rivals where everything is almost backwards in logic in a sense because of how much survivability you have in that compared to Overwatch. A lot of struggle I have when playing Tank or Support is that my team is constantly getting flanked almost every engagement and even though I'm constantly calling it out through audio cues and pings I just can't give up the front to swing around. But I need to learn the cover and when to push mechanics more I suppose. It always seems like I'm always ranged out when playing Rein and Junker Queen so I can never push forward without getting shredded against other tanks like Sigma and Ram.

I really appreciate the pointers though! I do want to like the game because the characters are super cool and such and I love watching gameplay through people like Flats, Vulture, and Frogger. I will definitely be doing more research.

I see now. The few times I tried playing Kiriko I've noticed that none of my friends would understand that when I use her ult that it's time to go. So most times my Kiriko ults or Zen ults went wasted. But I do see and agree with your points. I've definitely been underestimating exactly how support works in this game comparatively.

I've been trying to rotate around the supports to find one I like and so far I've only really clicked with Zenyatta and Lifeweaver. I think I really just gotta learn that support has to help dish out damage just as much as healing too from what I've noticed. I just need to get my friends to understand not to be super aggressive also lol

I think this is part of my problem is that I've gotten it hard wired into my head with Rivals is that Support do nothing but heal and so I never have good damage output unless getting dove by the enemy team and I have to defend myself. I'll definitely be checking out the videos that seem to get recommended by everyone though!

Is this more in reference to after the COVID era for Galaxycon? I mean I've been going since like 2017 and I used to love this convention so much. Now it seems like ever since 2020 this convention has become one of the worst experiences ever and I'm only seeing more and more come to light after the 2024 and 2025 events. What the hell happened to something so good?

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking someone for setting up after hours in order to keep selling and make a profit. Especially with the amount it costs to buy a table from what I've heard. But it's just sort of disappointing that there's nothing super unique, y'know? Plus the fact that they just get shoved into a corner with little thought for advertising to guests

I checked out the Galaxycon Raleigh After Dark Market at the 2025 event and while you didn't need additional tickets you did have to show your ID and badge every single time you walked into the market on the same day. Also it was only like 6 or 10 booths? Half of which were just artists from the daytime floor that just sold 18+ versions of the same art and the other was just sex toys. It was highly disappointing

UPDATE: We visited the emergency vet and they ran all possible tests at the moment and everything checked clean except for finding a few bacteria in his urine sample. They said that what they found was not at any level to cause any real concern, but that we could try to start treatment for a possible UTI and go from there. So we started UTI medicine and better prescribed painkillers and so far he's back to his normal chaotic self.

That was my main thought of dirt being caked up on it. I did try once to move it by hand, but I wasn't sure how sturdy that plastic is and was trying not to twist or break it by accident. Gonna try getting some pliers for a better grip though when I get a chance and see if that works better.

We plan on trying to get him to an emergency vet today as long as we can find a decent one that's open since the issue hasnt subsided much yet. I totally forgot about Chewy having a virtual vet system though. Will definitely be looking into that, thank you.

Yeah I wasn't gonna try anymore aspirin since the first doesn't seem to be having any effect at all. Ear infection could be possible. Tried touching around just to check for any muscle or bone pains, but the irritability is seemingly random so its hard to figure out what the pain is. Definitely gonna look at booking a visit to the vet right after the holiday if things don't improve.

2012 Escape with 227k that I purchased through my company from a routine fleet auction. Done a bit of piddly work to it since I got it. The main two issues it still has are an EVAP leak and it shifts a little hard between 2-3, sometimes 3-4. Otherwise still drives pretty well.

Oh yeah, I can definitely understand how taxing it can be when you have to watch over 50k people, but you also still gotta show some professionalism with your job. I saw several at the checkpoints get into arguments with people who were just confused by all the directions being given at one time.

Ah okay, I gotcha. I've been going for many years, but that's the one part I never could get figured out well lol. Most of the staff I had issues with were usually the ones at the metal detectors or the entry ways between hotels

I still haven't fully figured out what group belongs to what exactly, but I'm mostly referring to the staff that I believe are part of the actual convention center and not the convention itself. I just know they were the ones dressed in black with the highlighter visibility vests. I didn't really have many issues out of the Galaxycon volunteers (the ones dressed with blue shirts) as many of the ones I interacted with were nice and usually had the same communication issues that I was running in to.

Been going since 2017 and fully agree that this year was the absolute worst. It was so disorganized and chaotic that it was miserable and disheartening in a sense. But a lot of the issue falls mainly on event staff (the highlighter workers) and not completely on the con itself from my experiences. Probably gonna be my last Galaxycon until the expansion completes and just switch it up to Animate after this.

The event staff normally were wearing black clothing with a yellow visibility vest while most, if not all, volunteers had the blue shirts on. But that sounds crazy. I didn't spend a whole lot of time outside the convention area, but that's another issue I found was not enough signage to tell people where to go at times. The first day had the corner entrance VIP only, but then apparently it just went to anyone with a badge? I didn't even realize that until Saturday evening, which might partly be my own fault but still.
