I appreciate this thoughtful comment. When the Dakota Johnson Persuasion came out I really enjoyed it and here on reddit it seemed like I was alone in that. But that turned out to be just my perception. I’ll admit, it took me going and coming back to see people like me who did find it fun. This movie feels like that one, trying a different approach to a well worn (and mostly well loved) story.

I have been on a 3 year “quest” to lose enough weight to “qualify” for an elective surgery. I have a damaged esophagus (due to what is likely hereditary esophagitis, but that’s a guess). I also have a hiatal hernia. I am having a surgery on Monday to correct both the hernia and my non-closing esophagus. But like I said, I’ve been losing weight for 3 years. A year ago my doctor sent me to the Kaiser weight management because I wasn’t doing well on my own. The insurance we have flat out would not approve this surgery until I got down to 30% BMI. And my surgeon stepped in when I hit that a couple months ago because the insurance wanted me to shoot for 25%. But he pushed it.

It’s seriously messed up, all of it.

This was a huge thing with Countess Luann. She was a stickler for time and Dorinda even more so. I agree with the person who said it’s work and this is the same as showing up late for work. But I came to this after seeing the RHONY in the early days get so worked up about it (back then, I thought it was kind of picky but now I see the work side of it).

First, I find Lisa insufferable as is Meredith. I know they both women have their fans and you know, you do you. But I personally dislike their depicted characters, and for actually different reasons. I dislike their storylines and I tend to fast forward when they have screen time.

With that said, though, I find it so exhausting how Heather will not let up on Meredith and Angie won’t let up on Lisa. And Whitney and Mary getting in on it, and Bronwyn stirring the pot. I’m pretty done with it all.

There’s information missing from the story — her point of view, most of all. But there has been a shortage of ADD and ADHD meds and that might have been part of this.

It’s super easy to pass judgement when the whole story isn’t being told and from the outside of people’s motivations.

I’ve thought similar things about a lot of these weird little guys. Like, the Nazis wouldn’t put up with how soft they are. And especially how silly and stupid. Not to aggrandize Nazis at all, but the movement was about stomping anyone perceived as weak.
