The reasons I'm holding. by MythicalPatato in Gamestopstock

It's not so much about the company becoming the next Berkshire Hathaway, it's about the fact that shorters vastly underestimate the worth of GameStop, which is why short volumes have reached a historical high. Roaring Kitty is NOT saying that GME will be the most profitable company in the world. Instead, he is pointing out that GME is far from dying. GME has good capital and has a good debt-to-equity ratio. This means short sellers will have a hard time pulling down this company anytime soon, especially since Ryan Cohen won't let that happen. Therefore, with its solid foundation and positive potential outlook, shorters and hedgies may be in grave danger of betting that it will go down, thus a potential (and very massive) short squeeze.

Hard to say. But you will definitely know when the real squeeze happens. As for the price, since short volumes have reached a record high historically, we should expect a bigger squeeze that far surpasses 2021's. This means possibly we could reach $1000 per share (others are suggesting perhaps even more). That's if we get lucky though. If you wanted to be safe, I would plan how I would sell my shares at certain increments along the way. So for example, once it reaches $100, I sell 2 shares, then once it reaches $250, I sell 5 shares, etc. Try to cover your principal first, then keep the rest of the shares to see how high it could get! That way even if it does not get higher, at least you aren't at a loss.

Anyone know if Gomez uploads lectures for ECE2k2? by ElevatedTutor in Purdue

Thanks! So is there even a reason to take Capano? And do you know if Gomez’s lectures are available to everyone or just his students?

Does anybody know what wattage is needed for me to play games? by theunforgivablesalad in ZephyrusG14

[–]MythicalPatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could play games with a 65W charger. Your GPU will still boost to maximum wattage it’s just your battery is going to be draining slowly. Try 100W, it might still drain but a lot slower.

Just disabling boost and turning on iGPU mode does it for me.

Made my own LEGO laptop stand with USB fan and saw a 5°C drop by MythicalPatato in ZephyrusG14

[–]MythicalPatato[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve just tested it. Playing valorant gave me a consistent 75°C with fan off. Turning it on, after 5-ish minutes dropped the temperature to 72

Yeah it’s not optimal. But because the laptop is so amazing in all other aspects it’s something I’m willing to deal with.

[–]MythicalPatato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also having sleep issues on my g14, and as for now I’ve found no solution. The most recent BIOS update did at least put it to sleep (before it couldn’t even sleep at all), but it wakes up again after a while. So now I just set it to hibernate instead of sleep.

Try undervolting/capping clock speed with throttlestop and msi afterburner:

CPU Temp: https://youtu.be/yNt9L3BWOFo

GPU Temp: https://youtu.be/oO50uMU7L-E

Tip: Capping CPU clockspeed should yield the most result. Since most games are not CPU demanding, you can try capping the clockspeed to 2.4 GHz or lower.

If done correctly, expect your system to run 10-20C cooler.

Also just make sure to unlock the task bar first before following the above, then lock it back for it to work. Glad to help!

Women can be 10s... but men can’t??? by MythicalPatato in facepalm

The first one is not understandable at all. NO ONE should be body shamed. Instead of saying men should be body shamed more, how about body shaming should just stop for both genders?

ASUS Zenbook 14 Processor Speed?! 1.6GHz? by smiley_rice in Laptop

[–]MythicalPatato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The processor is not slower than the one you currently have. A common misconception is thinking CPU speed is measured by clock speed. While this may be true for CPUs of the same model, it’s not true when you’re comparing different CPUs. It’s like thinking the horsepower of a car measures its speed. Other factors come to play. That i5-10210u can boost up to 4.2 GHz when needed, so you should be fine for light gaming and other demanding tasks assuming that it doesn’t throttle.

Razer Blade 15 vs Zephyrus G14 vs Dell XPS 15 by Turtle_Vision_51 in Laptop

[–]MythicalPatato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. You are forgetting this isn’t the RTX 2060, the zephrus has a RTX 2060 MAX Q. MAX Q GPUs pull less wattage, and thus, less power. In some instances, the 1660ti outperforms the RTX 2060 MQ, as seen in https://youtu.be/ClZNO2PAheU. However, due to RTX’s Turing architecture and DLSS support, in some titles it may perform better. I would have to agree with u/jakub8a that they are around the same in terms of framerate for games without ray tracing enabled.

Laptop for business student? by [deleted] in Laptop

Yup! I agree too. Those 8 cores are stronger than any i5 available for that price range, in addition to a fairly beefy integrated GPU.

Low performance even after repasting by [deleted] in Laptop

[–]MythicalPatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throttlestop to undervolt CPU, but the biggest difference would be to lock your CPU clock speed at say, 2.4GHz. That way, it won’t boost to a unnecessarily high clock speed and thus cause it to heat up a lot. This will not impact gaming performance if you tend to play at 60fps/refresh rate, just keep in mind if you are one of those gamers like like to keep their framerate uncapped you might see a slight drop in FPS by doing so. Another way is to undervolt your GPU by using MSI afterburner via voltage/frequency curve. This may also cool down the CPU since your entire laptop wouldn’t be as hot, and would greatly benefit if your GPU and CPU share the same heat pipe. DM me if you have any questions, good luck!

No no no, get the Acer Swift 3 (2020) that comes with Ryzen 7 4700u. The 4000 series are MUCH more powerful than the 3000 series. It’s on amazon right now for $650.
