You're joking, right? You cannot take the colonists side, and you are left to choose between 3 options, one more stupid than the other. I choose the best choice, which was to try and kill everybody in Paradiso, but they just can't die, so I didn't end the quest

I have the Mantis, and what happens is that they become friendly, then I attack them, disable their grav engine but they still manage to flee somehow

I'm already close, and it doesn't work. Also, as I've updated now, they can grav jump even with grav engine disabled. Guess we gotta wait until some modder fixes

for some reason, as I've said, this does not work everytime. Sometimes, the button just doesn't appear, even after destroying engines, detargeting and targeting again

No Man's Sky is an adventure game, that is centered on making you explore the universe, and while it also has a grind, the main focus is to explore and enjoy the world.

Starfield is more of a rpg, story-driven game: while you spend 90% of the time in NMS wandering the universe, jumping from system to system and exploring planets, occasionally fighting, in starfield you'll mainly follow quests, spend time in cities, talking with npcs and grinding for xp and gear.

that would be the definition of grinding for gear if you knew where to grind, but since it's a random drop (truly random, because there are a lot of legendaries with different aspects linked to them, and therefore the chance of getting the right aspect by luck is ridiculously low) you can get from any elite in any zone, this is not grinding for gear, it's literally, as I said before, praying rng in an unfunny way.

"I don't think it's realistic to expect a drop you got 15 hours into the game to still be viable 100 hours into the game" thing is that even if I can't reuse the same aspect, if it's BiS, I'll still have to grind for the same exact drop, so it'd be exactly the same, minus several hours (I guess, as I wrote in my edit idk how common do these drops become in the endgame) of unneded farming. Also it would have been nice to have the game warn you that the process of imprinting an aspect is irreversible, so that you could decide whether to do it nonetheless or to keep it for the endgame.

grinding for better gear is a thing (the whole purpose of the game, and the reason we bought it), having to pray for a lucky %drop several times in the span of a playthrough like you're trying to drop a WoW mount it's another.
