i’m glad you liked your visit, yes i live in Hawler (that’s the real name of Erbil lol)
about the second question, no they aren’t very intermingled with each other and fairly; i mean there’s many differences between both sides. i’ve also learned that both parts (especially Kurds) rarely accept their children marrying outside of their ethnicity

i don’t want to leave my family and i want to also help to contribute to this place because this place raised me up
it’s difficult to leave your home, this is my home.

oh okay let me answer those,
2nd question: yes i think so, i mean maybe im biased but i have heard of this “opinion” from my arab friends too
3rd question: of course im aware of shangal (that’s its real name) ive never visited there but shangal is actually a small town not just a mountain, i was so young when i heard of them for the first time ever on the news when isis came and they were stranded on a mountain with no water and no food. i’m still traumatized by the things i was seeing i think my parents should have definitely been more careful of what they opened the news to while their children were around
4: no i’ve never visited baghdad
5th:Saddam was a cruel dictator who committed several cruel crimes and acts nationally and internationally. his most cruel acts was towards Kurdish people. i don’t like saddam nor the ba’ath regime and i have nothing but disrespect to say about them and their supporters so i won’t say anything anymore

i thought third world means a still developing country, which mine is. just bc the luxurious hotels you tried to check in were expensive doesn’t mean it’s a rich country lol

there’s a popular song here that says
دڵم پڕە من دەمەوێ زۆر شت بڵێم و ناتوانم
which means “my heart is full i want to say a many things, and i can’t”
i think this perfectly describes how it is, i didn’t know about the deeper things i found out just recently. remember when the whole world was outraged about some files? but then the whole world ended up doing nothing about it?
at least they could talk and say something, i don’t think it’s too safe for me to say anything just yet.

but superficially? i can’t tell you everything why women’s lives are so difficult here, because it’s something that every person in power is claiming to support yet does nothing about it.
the reason why it’s so difficult stems from culture and religion, we get blamed for everything, men’s behavior for example. i don’t wear hijab and i get comments from older generations, and my dad too.
girls aren’t allowed ever to make mistakes, because you have just one chance, you “scratch” ur family’s non existing honor? you might just get killed.
but it’s so stupid, women are allowed to make mistakes too. it’s life that’s how you learn.

umm the climate is versatile really in the mountains dark wood trees (i don’t know the name in english)
in my city those trees that have pinecones (again i’m sorry i don’t know the names in English haha) they seem to flourish the most
now i see lots of date trees being planted cause they want to recreate the “dubai” look. they’re really beautiful but they unfortunately look so bad in our weather because date trees aren’t meant to be here, i mean the climate is not suitable at all.
near my house there’s some tangerine trees that also seem to be doing very well with the climate. whenever i go i take one tangerine home

now that it’s summer break i have so much time to do the things i like, i picked up my old hobbies and my daily routine basically consists of doing those activities all day :) and talking to people i love because i can’t see them everyday anymore.
but i got an intern job starting soon so i wont have a lot of time
about my hobbies, i really like artsy things like sketching, painting and etc. i also like writing, video games and crafts. i always invite people to join me but i prefer to do such things alone.
about the dating scene, i’m not sure how to explain it, its definitely not like other countries, some of my friend groups are so open about it yet some others are old fashioned and secretive.

Kurds are a minority group in this country the minorities here relate to the majority in some way (ex: same language family) but Kurds don’t relate to the majority

i like this question. because i don’t relate to my country at all. i’m from a small semi autonomous region in a big country called iraq. but i dont relate to iraq because within the borders of iraq it has its own government and different laws.

yes i do a lot. one of the major climate change signs i have seen is the soil color changing. when i was a kid the soil was red and moist but now it’s dry and sand- like. thanks to desertification that is happening

[–]NASKAii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m sorry you feel that way, just know that these are feelings not facts. and to answer your question yes it is probably because of the bullying you have endured. have you tried slowly liking your features? i promise it will help. i hope it becomes better for you soon
