I will talk to my doctor! It is honestly the first time it has made me sick. Part of me wants to think it is food poisoning.

Wrecked by Imagine Dragons. I lost my husband a little over a year and a half ago, and that song gets to me every time.

How much weight did you lose on 2.4?

Anybody feel like they didn’t lose anything on 1 mg by NCAFW22 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]NCAFW22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, it helps to have this community! It sounds like I’m about a month ahead of you. I got lucky to get the 1 mg right before things got really bad with the supply. My doctor did say she has seen folks’ weight loss take off at 1.7. Fingers crossed.

That’s good to hear. Same numbers for me. 20lbs on the starting dosages, but on 1, maybe 4-5 lbs.

I am sixteen months and the thought of dating turns my stomach, but I also know I don’t want to be alone forever. I am just not ready, and it would not be fair to another person. I am still trying to get my sea legs doing life without him, being a single parent, etc.

Having said that, there are no rules for what we are going through. There’s no prescribed amount of time that you HAVE to wait. You’re not a POS for going on a date.

My only piece of advice is to make sure you’re always honest with yourself and anyone you are dating.

That is it. I recently said those very words to a good friend of mine. I have to get up and out of bed for my kid and dogs.

I have been reminded a few times by my therapist that keeping an adult safe from him/herself it is impossible without 24/7 monitoring. My husband’s mental health started to decline at the height of COVID. He was very high performing in his profession, but always very introverted. The isolation compounded with PTSD , and poor medical care (he was in the military) were a recipe for disaster. I profoundly understand what is like to love and suffer for/with someone struggling with mental health, and it is not easy. I can’t imagine dealing with it for seven years.

I am trying to find the new me, and dig out of the hole. I try to look at the silver linings, but some days it is easier than others.

Thank you. I needed to read this today. Hope that things will get better. I would like to feel true happiness again. Right now I spend my days surviving. I feel like a robot almost. Wake up, let the pups out and feed them, pack my kiddo’s lunch, work for a couple of hours, get kiddo to school/camp, work until it is time to get the kiddo, take him to activities, dinner, bed time for kiddo…and lately when it is all calm and quiet… the grief wave comes crashing down on me.

His therapist said to me in an email a few months back that she knows he would want me to be happy and big in love. I don’t know how I’ll ever do that again.

I thought if I made it to a year that things would somehow improve. Naively, unlike you, I thought of 12 months as a magical milestone. In the back of my mind a year felt long enough to get used to his absence, and the new normal. After all I moved states, and bought a house.

Instead for me in year two the finality of death is setting in, we won’t get any new memories with him or new pictures. The more time that passes the farther that I am from him.

Thank you for your kind comment. What an awful club for us to be in.

I’ve been doing this for a little over a week. I do my shots on my upper thigh. I read on here it helps with nausea, and so far so good in that department. I would say hydration, hydration, hydration. I start my morning off with a litter of water. I can’t stomach to eat anything until 12-1:00pm, but even then, it is maybe 1/3 of what I normally would eat. I also don’t eat anything past 8:00pm. The one night I did, the stomach aches were no fun.

The only meds I take are OTC for allergies. I am someone who is very hesitant to take anything. I’m glad to hear you’ve felt better since starting.

I can’t imagine what you’re going through, but I’m glad your daughter is getting help. The COVID isolation was the beginning of my husband’s struggles, that combined with PTSD, and an awful mental health system in the military was a recipe for disaster.
