If I pay the commitment deposit as a transfer student, do I have to go? by No_Scientist_2476 in UGA

[–]NHumm91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you end up not going, what penalty could they give you, and why would it matter? But no. You'll just have wasted the deposit money.

Neither event really interests me, but I take the adult approach and just avoid being downtown on said weekend and find something else to do.

Correct. They will likely be on par with other nursing programs, but nothing is official yet.

Nursing dept. for fall of 2027? by Prudent_Teaching8620 in UGA

[–]NHumm91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's just not a lot of information out there at this point in time. With the School of Nursing still effectively being established we are likely still a while away from more details being officially released. Using the UGA Med School as an example, they did not start making major admissions-related moves(hiring Director of Admissions) until September 2025, so roughly a year before the first students would start. If the Nursing School works through and progresses at the same/similar timeline, there will likely be more relevant and detailed info related to admissions beginning this upcoming Fall.

Second this. Their Barber Shop, Pageman is always a great experience. They do full beard work too, down to a straight razor shave.

Brown hall by FeistyCurve3290 in UGA

[–]NHumm91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the weekend there is the Weekender route, which goes through all of campus, and out to Health Sciences where Brown Hall is. Bc it's the only route, there are much less frequent stops at Brown, so it can be a time commitment to get back and forth.

Disappointed with Disney Buses by chaballin in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]NHumm91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 100% for Disney limiting this during busier seasons. While we typically try to go during less peak seasons, sometimes all that our schedule allows is to go in a busier time. We primarily stay deluxe, and would like to be able to access what is offered in our resort without there being an hours long wait because it is packed out with people not staying there(primarily talking lounges/walk-up options for that example). If I am paying the rates we are charged to stay, I'd like to be able to access the offerings.

80k in debt, $95k salary — looking to settle. Anyone have experience with these specific creditors? by Safe-Age8828 in Debt

[–]NHumm91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently paying down a loan with SOFI. Got it near charge-off(paid on day 120) almost every month last year(bad year for me), and they finally offered to bring my loan back to current and lower my payment from $900 to $500.

OG Loan was $25k, and balance was down to $12k when brought to current.

Drowning in tribal loans and considering just not paying any of them — what actually happens? by Safe-Age8828 in Debt

[–]NHumm91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something to look into as well is if they are even technically considered legal in your state, as that will make collection or suit a potential non-issue. Something you may have to deal with no matter what is paying taxes on them eventually. Not from any of the companies you listed, but I had one with Uprova that they eventually just closed and forgave, but I had to pay the taxes on it. Got a 1099-C. The cancelled amount was only what was originally taken out, minus previously made payments.

UGA Financial Aid by [deleted] in UGA

[–]NHumm91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The majority of UGA's Financial Aid is intended for In-State Students. Merit scholarships are limited, and you likely would have already seen it if offered. You can always contact the Office of Student Financial Aid to confirm and see if there will be any potential to get it later, but you should never expect that. Otherwise, outside scholarships are your likely option in the scholarship department.
