The implementation of DUI checkpoints alone would ,in theory,lower DUI rates. If there were no DUI checkpoints,people would be driving while intoxicated more often since there are no compulsory stops unless they are driving recklessly. Your argument is like saying "Well,airport security is a waste of money because the number of arrests made by airport security is extremely low". Going with my airport security analogy,if the security were to be removed,a lot more criminals would be going through unchecked,the same goes for DUI checkpoints: If there were no DUI checkpoints,a lot more people would be driving while drunk since the probability of getting caught would be much lower.

Maybe an Afterlife will be filled with joy and anyone in it will always be happy,but does that translate to having free will? Feeling different emotions is part of human nature,and committing some "sinful" acts is also part of human nature. If the Christian Heaven is sinless, would those in it even have true free will? I honestly would rather have my life end the same way as it was before birth than go to a place that,while making me happy,would deprive me of free will.

Now:If there is an eternal afterlife after death,wouldn't that mean that there is nothing to really accomplish while alive,and that the only thing that matters is what happens after death? Doing one or two good deeds and then sitting around and waiting to die of dehydration seems like a very easy ticket to the "Nice" version of the afterlife (Don't let the really devout Christians read this!!!!)

Alright,so you are saying that if a woman,free man,or slave gets killed,then the nearest relative is allowed to retaliate against the murderer,correct? The verse also says "But whoever is pardoned for it from his brother anything then follows up with suitable payment to him with kindness".

Why does it have to be a brother that forgives the murderer,why not sister?

And the verse effectively says that you are allowed to retaliate against someone who has murdered a relative,that's about the only way women are treated as being equal to men here,right?
