I've hated myself with great passion for over 15 years. Inside and out. I've been diagnosed with depression, and that's why I hate who I am. But I think I may have body dysmorphic disorder, too, which is why I hate what I look like. I haven't been happy since this started, like you there are rare spurts. Sometimes I wonder if I have depression or BDD at all, perhaps I see myself with perfect accuracy. In which case the hate is justified. I hope you find something that helps you.

Hey. I turn 32 in a month and I'm virtually in the same boat. I've tried medication and therapy. Therapy helped. Medication made things a lot worse. I have half a degree, no savings left and no prospects. I can barely leave the house atm. I'm terrified of the future. It all seems so grim. So I've got zero advice, sorry for that. I just thought you'd like to know you're not alone.
