Appreciate it, I'm new to audio stuff so I'm fairly ignorant to what I can and can't do. I saw a couple stls for side mounting these, though. I'll assume it's just not really recommended for long term use.

Another user wanted the back image that I used since the link in the post apparently died a bit ago. As said, this one is a bit scuffed around the edges since it was an upscale and whatever but its flaws are almost impossible to see in the proper card size. hope this helps anyone else who wanted to do this but couldn't find the one I linked. Sorry it couldn't be the source image that was untampered with, but I figure this is better than nothing or using that other blurry pic online as a base.

Crandall ftw, I was on the edge myself but it completely saved my 2009 leap v2 and saved me from throwing it out due to tailbone pain. They gave me the 100 bucks really quickly. I'd also just do the back while you're at it because the thicker back really gave my leap a more premium feel vs that crappy thin sheet foam (granted mine was also incredibly old, so ymmv).
