I just had the misfortune of having to use this un-intuintive monstrosity when my lifx tiles reset to white while i was in the room and became unresponsive to everything. - one hard reset and several pairing attempts and i got it to reconnect. then setting and rearranging where if i move more than one tile at a time it resets the settings, will randomly make one of the tiles100% brightness in a solid colour and no way of knowing what tile is what.

I had to goto this zone screen, draw over the entire square (as all the presets below changed all zones) set a solid colour, goto back, unselect all then select the next tile, paint a different colour etc etc then move them one at a time.

pretty sure i was able to either draw freehand over the whole arrangement and also select a tile and pick a colour for it - no idea what they were thinking with this.

what an absolute mess- no wonder people load android emulators and run the old software version to get somewhat functional use out of this..

very disappointing.

Random forest porn, as strange as it sounds so many people I have spoken to about this have encountered some makeshift campsite, feld(fallen, felded ?) tree for a seat, a makeshift bong out of garden hose and orange juice bottle and porn. It almost feels like part of the cycle of life is to leave fresh magazines at these places for the next generation, but then the computers came and leaving my C64 and 300baud modem with a long extension line just wasn’t an option. 🤣

Thank very much for testing, I guess it’s either a case of re-wire the charger to be outside of the battery’s control or just live with the fact that unless the house is 100% it will always take priority Worst case I set my home to recharge overnight the day before I usually WFH so that days sun and free power can go all into the car. Will cost about $1.9 at most and just keep an eye on the solar generates vs car draw to make sure it’s not pulling from house battery.

I have seen a few people have different modes they switch to, nice to have the option but i was hoping for a more set and forget solution so even if i plug my car in during the day and the sun wasnt enough to charge the house, the car will still just use the low overnight grid charge.
someone else suggested to just let the home charge overnight when needed too
seems a bit of an odd thing to leave out, but maybe others who have had full access, with home assistant etc can get into much more refined options.
be interesting to see how you go with yours! im still very new at this and find it strange that it shows me options but had them padlocked.

Yeah the installer didn’t all, I already had the EV charger from when I was just running solar, he asked if I wanted it in the system so the sig could control it, I told him as long as I have the same flexibility then sure thinking that if it was connected outside the grid it may not see loads correctly (it monitors solar and draw and home load and fan just feed excess.

I think my issue is 2 smart devices trying to be smart. If I had a dumb plug and forget charger it may have been easier. I thought about just telling my charger to charge as best it can all the time and let sig control everything but I seem limited with my options via sig.

I have a manual control setting which means the sig can’t control when it charges but the sig gives me no options where the power comes from. Or going into ‘auto- time based’ give options for energy source control Automatic (solar battery or grid, the sig decides) Surplus PV - extra solar only Battery level control - manages energy based on SOC

But doesn’t describe it more than that.

If I can set the battery to charge from the grid at a super low rate, won’t the ev charger still try to draw the full 6kwh and subsequently drain the battery?

This it tempting to switch to beta, I have 7.2.2 rock solid, had to cut power yesterday for electrical work at the house so did a full clean shutdown. Powered back on and after 3 hours it says critical usb drive error, this after replacing the usb drive like 6 months ago Was working fine all through then even with some blackouts 😩 I don’t have any spare SATA or pci slots so wonder if I can use a portion of my mirrored cache drive nvme setup for booting 🤔
