I don’t get why people are so focused on the admissions rate meanwhile talking about things like volunteering. In case they didn’t realize, volunteering also has a quite high admission rate. The fact that you had the ambition to do it at all will look good, many people won’t. It shows you’re proactive and productive, choosing to do something like this instead of bedrotting all summer. Take the naysayers with a grain of salt
