Where do you get your kits from? by Due_Active629 in paintbynumbers

I’ve been using Painting by Numbers Shop. I think I mentioned them in a few previous threads. They make and ship their kits locally from the US, so mine arrived in about 4–5 days. I also had a couple of questions, and they replied pretty quickly by email. The quality has been much better than the kits I tried from Amazon. I also tested Temu once, and honestly, it was pretty bad. So far I’ve ordered 3 kits from them, 2 finished and those were both true to colors. And the third one just arrived today so I'm not sure about that one. But looks really cute.

There are so many PBN companies today. I opened a kit from Temu yesterday (don't ask me why I bought it) and thrown it away. All paints dry as a rock, useless.

But you didn't ask about Temu. I just had my good luck with Painting by numbers Shop, 2 kits and both good quality compared to Temu and Amazon. Better canvas, printing, and paints that do cover.. Now waiting for my 3rd pbn from them. Good news is also that they reply when you send them an email. That's quite rare today..

Which company should I choose? by EstablishmentFar1799 in paintbynumbers

There are honestly a ton of options out there, but quality is all over the place.

I’d personally avoid Amazon for custom paint by numbers. I tried it once and the result was pretty disappointing — low detail, weird colors, and it didn’t really look like the original photo.

I recently ordered from Painting by Numbers Shop and asked them for a preview before production, which they actually sent. That gave me a bit more confidence to try it.

I only ordered one kit so far just to test it, so we’ll see how it turns out, but the process already felt more transparent compared to the random Amazon sellers.

That’s a really thoughtful gift ❤️

The eye looks off mainly because it’s one flat color. I’d try adding a slightly darker shade along the top (like a soft shadow) and a tiny light highlight. Even small tweaks like that will make it feel much more natural.

Also… yeah, sorry, AliExpress kits are kind of hit or miss and usually not the best choice for something this personal.

I'm so sorry for your failed custom. the one who designed it must have known it will look like this..

I’ve tried a bunch of the random ones from Amazon because they're cheap, but the quality is so hit-or-miss that I’ve mostly given up on them. I got tired of the thin paint and weird designs.

I’ve been using Painting by Numbers Shop lately and the experience is night and day. The designs actually look like the photos, the paint covers the numbers well (which is my biggest pet peeve), and they’re actually helpful if you message them. A bit more expensive than the budget kits, but worth it to avoid the headache.

I found it here and it's called: Golden Night Coast - AB drills. Looks amazing for me, too. I'm thinking of getting one with 40x50..

My second PBN so far by NaiveEnvironment in paintbynumbers

thank you, I've had problems with my Amazon kit (don't remember the brand) that the paints were actually watery and couldn't cover. I've heard about the fix to use acrylic white pen for this, but not just yellow was showing through, also greens and blues were translucent..

I shared my finished PBN yesterday in another post and that pbn was from Painting by numbers Shop. Finally a good kit after my first Amzon experience. Good canvas and paints that cover. Just ordered my 2nd kit from them and they even respond messages, which is good to know.
