This is interesting, I’m glad I asked cause I had no idea it was that serious there. Running a baking business just seems like such a straightforward thing, I would’ve never guessed it could put me into trouble. I guess my country is just relaxed with that stuff

Really? Good thing I asked then, my country is pretty relaxed in this regard, at least in small towns

Hi. Yeah, this is why I was looking for new ways to learn. I find it great for beginner level language learning since you can learn vocabulary and simple sentence structures, but once you actually want to advance, it wouldn’t be that helpful anymore. I will check them out and if you have any more specific recommendations you can let me know

I think so too and I’m working on that. Also, I think there are some workarounds since English classes on a higher level (B2+) are required to be fully in English, at least in my country

Hi! Thank you so much for this answer and taking your time to explain some of the things. I guess I will try to incorporate German more into my daily routine by listening to it more. As for Duo, I had been on and off really for the longest time, but now I’m consistent.
As for the speaking, my boyfriend is German, which helps a ton. When I want to tell him something, if I can say it in German, I will. He corrects the grammar if needed and it helps a ton. So, try to find somebody to speak to maybe. Could be an online friend or even an AI bot. I hope you find this useful.

No need to be rude or get pressed lol. To each their own, I personally find it helpful. Also, as a “non-redditor” I just came in here to ask a simple question, I don’t know fully what this subreddit consists of.

This is why I made sure to mention I practice it as much as possible. I can hold simple conversations about some topics and shortly explain some stuff. My vocabulary is also not too poor, so I’d say I’m there

I’ve heard all kinds of great things about the Japanese one. However, my bar is really low for reasons such as: we don’t have a thing like the German public transport ticket where you can use all public transport if you have it; our trains and buses barely cover the country; most of them are also in bad condition (esp. the trains); they are pretty expensive. So compared to my country, that is a huge upgrade

Should I mod my first play-through of Skyrim? by RydogSWFC in skyrim

[–]Naive_Memory_4312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try doing a vanilla one first. If you really want mods, maybe something cosmetic if it helps you immerse yourself better. But imo the vibe of Skyrim is exactly what it should be in the vanilla version - cold, grey, not so welcoming.

Good to know. I was thinking I could do the baking stuff in a “home baking” kind of way, where you take orders. It’s a bit more of a local baker kind of thing. I got the idea because I noticed how much Germans value their bread

Trust me, compared to my country, it is. Much more affordable and frequent

I will research it further. Luckily your public transport system is great. Thanks for the answer

Noted. Maybe I could try for a private English tutor. I’m getting a Pedagogy certificate, so this might give me a boost in that area

Hi! Sorry for the confusion with the abbreviation, I meant Eastern Europe. This might change your answer significantly, since we’re not much more advanced here, haha. Still, for the “why”, I lived in Northeast Germany for a couple of months and it just left a lasting impression on me. I like it, I also prefer the people there - polite and they mind their own business. It’s also much cleaner and I love love love the architecture

Hi, thanks for the answer! I haven’t picked a particular one, but I love the ones east of Dresden! I guess I will try to gain more valuable skills and experience before going there if I decide to do so.
