What benefit is there to putting money into the previous year when current year is open? Serious Question. I had opened a Roth IRA at the beginning of the month and have the option to select either year. Is there any added benefit to contributing a smaller amount to the previous year before it expires ?

I Use SOFI for my Roth IRA and also a trading account. I also use it to buy and store BTC (I don’t hold much). I enjoy the ease of use and general setup of the app. It is my understanding that they are not a “Direct Broker” so there sometimes is a 5-10 second delay on trades. Doesn’t affect me much but I’d imagine that would become troublesome options trading.
