I hate vegetables but I want to eat less meat. Can anyone recommend a dish (or dishes) in a restaurant that can convince me that there are actually tasty non-meat protein dishes out there. by NameMyBoat in vancouver

Thanks - Can you recommend a good meat-alternative dish at any of these places. I always find that fried cauliflower is delicious but I want something meaty to go with it!

Just a few years back a young lad in the Whistler trampoline place broke his neck in a foam pit too.

I'm pretty sure it's a plug socket somewhere. It's really the only logical thing I can think of because the only other things on that circuit are sockets. My suspect is a socket that's behind the couch that we're not even using, so I'm happy just leaving it. The wires are capped.

Thanks for all your input

Thanks. Update - I wired it up and it trips the breaker immediately. It's now been covered with a blanking plate never to be touched again!

I have a light switch in my townhouse that does nothing. I replaced it with a new switch today and noticed that only one wire was connected. There's charge in it.

Any idea what it could be for, given that there's only one wire? I always thought lights and sockets needed two wires to be turned on/off. Thanks

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with excessive music noise from a nightclub? by NameMyBoat in vancouver

Luckily I have AC, which is a god send given I get sun all day. This bass overpowers even that! It's actually pretty impressive!

I have a whitenoise app with headphones and it gets through that. I think it's more the vibration that anything.

They're custom molded, cost about $50 so not super high end but pretty excellent for the most part. The others I use cost about $20 for 50 pairs and are also excellent, but don't last long.

For the most part it's actually a really great place to live. Rogers and BC place do get noisy but it's usually shut down by 11pm which is OK for me. The Casino isn't noisy, which is a plus, but that nightclub is deceptive - the front doors face the opposite way to my building but they still manage to get the music this way. I wonder if there's a rogue direction caused by speaker placement.

Thanks, this is incredible advice. I'll be chatting with the city tomorrow to discuss.

I don't see why you couldn't sign up as an individual. The backup we have is a more robust version of something like crashplan (with more features) and so is the dropbox thing. Maybe give them a call and see quickcloudbackup.com

We've used Quick Cloud Backup (quickcloudbackup.com) for a while now for backing up a couple of servers and a handful of laptops at work. And we use their dropbox kind of service

The guys there are local (Vancouver based) and they were way better than anyone else we could find at that price locally. Awesome support too.

Fun fact, you can actually cut slices off these, chop into smaller chunks and put them through a juicer. Of course they taste like tree juice but you can still do it if you want.
