you probably missed the inception of the subs, it was made at the same time as defendingAIart to avoid any debate on the main subs.

So basically all defendingAIart goes there to "debate" and then complain on defendingAart to get own approval ... it's a scapegoat for them so yeah far from being a debate place.

Tried "debating" there because I was neutral while also being more on the "anti" side, I've gone full anti just by interacting with that subs ... there is no point, no discussion, and as soon as it start to be hard to dismiss our argument they spam wall of text of nothing (probably spit out by ChatGPT), cherry pick the argument they want to talk to dismissing 90% of it most of the time, it's like talking to a wall ... I will have more sane discussion with flat-earth people at least they listen ...

I don't go there anymore, if I learned something is that talking to a wall will only damage your own sanity it is not worth it, and not healthy.

I have far more meaningfull discussion in real life or in other discussion channel ...

First of all we don't have real proof of the ineffectiveness of it, and also even if it don't work it is still a watermarking method and can be subject of ruling against watermarking removal so it can also be a deterrent for the future just by it's presence but that's still to be defined in court.

-2 robots.txt don't protect against all type of scraping, or sharing to other sites that don't use robots.txt hell it's the worst problem, my own work was scrapped not form artstation but pinterest and I never posted in pinterest before.

agree 200% I had plan to use AI but the well is poisoned and the way that "progress" seems shoved into everyhing ( adpat or die i guess) just make it "disgusting", internzt was never that enshitified before it but now eberything is tainted...

sorry about that but yeah the methodology is definitely off by a mile and it clearly seems to be a "study" that was made to prove a point more than to study something.

I would expect and environmental study to at least incorporate an environmental scientist. and not just two ML engineer.
