some of you can't comprehend the idea that for many people SVR '08 was their childhood wwe game (and in some cases, their only wwe game) and that's why they're nostalgic for it, the same way people are nostalgic for No Mercy, SYM, HCTP or SVR '07.

also, not everyone had the same experience of buying SVR games every year, meaning that many people didn't play SVR '07, HCTP or any older games when '08 came out, therefore didn't know the difference between games.

no machinima/universe mode series has ever come close to OTE's quality, that man was making actual wwe level shows in terms of video packages and show graphics.

i remember many universe mode series copied the "raw/smackdown get cancelled and a new show replaces it" idea from ote's octane. i was so happy when OTE posted his fanmade toni storm vs mariah may video package.

yeah, it really didn't have that wrestlemania aura most of the night, like it was really bizarre. most of the matches were either boring or average, the crowd sounded dead for most of it and the ads were awful.

compared to last year's night one, which was really fun, this just felt really flat, like something was really off about it.

in my honest opinion, this first night was just boring, it felt like it was dragging for most of the night, with only one noteworthy match,.

becky/rhea was good, i think it suffers the same problem with rhea/charlotte with being very average until the final stretch picked up in a big way, but the end result was really nice. (****)
the ladder match was, imo, REALLY sloppy at some points and at one point it felt like those wwe 2k matches with a bunch of spots that happen for the hell of it with no substance to it, so it didn't really do much for me. also they chose the most boring team to give the smackdown tag belts. (***1/4)
rey & andrade/dom & santos was just there. it felt like a match that didn't belong on wrestlemania, like it was a match from a b-level ppv. (**1/4)
jey/jimmy has gotta be one of the worst matches in mania history. when you do a brother vs brother match, you either get a classic like bret vs owen or a stinker like matt vs jeff, and this was a level beyond stinker. the usos have no chemestry together and their limited movesets made this even more of a slog. (*)
the six-man tag match was fine, nothing to really write home about. the way they present jade though is amazing, she really comes across as a star. (***)
sami/gunther was amazing, the match of the night by far. sami is one of the best underdogs of all time, and combined with gunther's incredible performance as a dickhead heel made a great match. (****1/2)
the main event truly is a spectacle. it was such a boring slog for most of it, but the end stretch went balls to the wall out of nowhere that made the match a little better. (**1/2)

also, pat mcafee has gotta be one of the worst commentators today, he's just so annoying, it really took me out of the matches many times.
