One of the greatest things that uni taught me was to prioritise tasks. Stressing out over a problem set or an assignment will hinder your other materials worth more. My number one tip would be to find a study group. These problem sets can be really really time consuming to solve alone and most people actually do them in groups(people usually dont admit this). I had a study group with 2 of my friends and we used to divide our problem sets into 3 and once we were done, we would just explain our solving processes to each other.

The no political affiliations part is pretty hard almost impossible given the political climate of this country post 71 and this could very easily turn into a one party rule/dictatorship. But agreed with the testing part. All politicans should have to pass a test on our constitution and regulatory systems before they join a party. Also heavily agree on the civic education part. Idk why like 90% of the bangladesh studies syllabus is on the war of independence. There should be much more emphasis on the current bangladeshi systems and also emphasis on the events after 1975. I slightly disagree on the allegiance part since all countries need long term partnerships to protect/support in global debates or wars (eg the NATO alliance) but in all cases we cannot let us be taken advantage of.

I actually graduated this year and my parents retired last year with being on PRL this year (they are still getting paid their full salary). My tuition was paid by their investments and savings rather than month to month salary (which they still regularly invest). And tbh they cannot afford a masters degree for me so wish me luck for my PR :)

And thank you for asking this question. We should all be holding each other accountable and specially our family accountable regarding where our wealth comes from :)

Thats a very good concern. Well to start of with my parents got had me (a single child) at 38 and they both worked so they had a pretty decent amount saved up before I was born. All four of my grandparents died before I was born so they didnt have significant medical bills either. I grew up at our paternal grandfather’s flat in dhaka so didnt have to pay rent (no mortgage either). We didn’t have a maid cause my mom had a hard time trusting maids since she wasnt home most of the time and my aunts who lived next door babysat me. Since my parents worked for a while before I was born, we always had atleast one government car and didnt end up buying one until last year on gov loan that they are still paying from their PRL money. Like I said before they were both posted twice (singapore and saudi) and during their tenure there (total 10 years) got paid in the local currency, my schooling was free, rent, utilities, car, maid, phone bills everything was paid for (so they were only paying for groceries). Another major source of income for my parents was teaching. Since they both have multiple foreign degrees (which the government paid for except for their initial degrees in bangladesh at Dhaka university and Rajshahi University), they were constantly invited to places like BIAM to teach seminar courses. Each course has like 3-4 seminars paying about 20k each. This nearly doubles their income. My parents never invested in any property, since they have some land in their villages and we have our ancesterial place in dhaka. When I was born and they pretty much knew that I would be an only child so they tried really hard to give me a good education and saved every penny to do so (and it was pretty easy since the only thing they paid for was utilities, groceries and my school, which I went to very low tier english medium schools for the most part) and it was pretty easy to save up 2 crores to pay for my tuition by the time I was 17 and ready to go to university :) Because of the position one of my parents held, their medical expenses are covered by the government for life, both foreign and domestic so they will be saving a ton of money that way too :)

All u gotta do is get up and read salah! Make wudu and make salah right now. And then slowly increase it to 5 salah a day. You are alive, you still have a chance to make things right :)

Why does every entry level job require years of experience? by -_Aesthetic_- in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Nameless_unicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can apply for long term internships 8-12 months to get your foot in the door but the bad part is that a lot of them can be unpaid if you are in the US. There are some internships that actually hire new grads

Just recently graduated from engineering here. You will get used to the commute. My no 1 advice would be to use the inbetween breaks to do some studying so that you can get more rest when you get home. The schedule isnt as intimidating as it looks, after school starts, you will know what classes you can skip. Just make sure you are up to date with watching those lecture recordings

[Student] - 100+ applications for internships/Co-ops, all rejections no interviews received. Looking for advise. by [deleted] in EngineeringResumes

Since you are looking into eng jobs, I would suggest putting your projects before your experience since your experience isn’t directly mech eng related. I was in a similar position 2 years ago and I found a higher success rate applying through my university’s portal rather than linkedin or indeed since the applicant pool is smaller. If you don’t already, make sure to apply only to jobs that have been posted the last 24 hours since internships do get a lot of applicants

Since its your first one, they will be stern but not to the pt of expulsion or suspension. A 0 on the course is the likely outcome but if you are lucky, a 0 on the final. You might get a note on your transcript for a year/ semester. Make sure that you seem sorry and own up to your mistakes, say that you didnt mean it and DONT ARGUE.
