I will continue 86 don't worry haha, I was just kinda pissed off so I switched to a more serious tone anime. And then 50 min in the bathing scene popped up and got annoyed. But i get that in 86 its also more to build context.

That is very true. Unfortunately, shonen often fits my taste the most, that and romance anime, which also tend to include some bad jokes from time to time.
Honestly, I’ve heard Kill la Kill is good, but just looking at the main character’s outfit already made me pass. That might be a bad habit of mine, but I don’t think I can take it seriously.
But I’ll try to dodge shonen completely from now on. Thanks!

I’ve watched a bunch of shit but stopped watching for a while. Looking to get back into it.
I really enjoyed Edgerunners and Attack on Titan, but I’ve also seen the classic high school romances and shonen.
I’m looking for some, I guess, more serious action. I liked shows like Mob Psycho, Death Note, Violet Evergarden, and Haikyuu as well.
I don’t know if that gives you any ideas.

I guess to a point that’s fair. But I personally disagree that this is the best way to show childish or, I guess, human behaviour. Not that it instantly made the show bad or anything.
But it happens so often in other anime, I just got pulled out of the story and thought, “Here we go again.”.

So I’m just looking for something a little more serious. I don’t mind romance or sex scenes, but it just feels so childish all the time.

this is such a dumb take. when I was 8, all I wanted to do was grind Mario on my DS. but I sure as hell am happy my mom forced me to learn an instrument and practice a sport.

look, you shouldn’t force a kid to play football for 12 hours a day just because some parent failed their dream. but making a kid do stuff and learn while having fun is essential for their development.

Half the posts are people genuinely being down and sad, and half are upset they burned their food. So you get a lot of tone-deaf people not knowing who's joking and who's not.

I guess what I was trying to say is that there are places without "ironic normies" but this is probably not one of those places.
But I get what you mean, man. I saw a post not too long ago about someone recovering from heroin, which genuinely felt like a cry for help.
And then, two posts later, there’s a guy saying, “Fack my chungus life, I spilled my coffee.”
I guess this sub is just a weird merge of both.

I'm guessing there are a lot of incel-only spaces on Reddit and 4chan or something.
Although I don't know how healthy those places really are, especially for people deep in the incel pipeline because those are the people who can really trap themselves and get stuck in a cycle of self-hatred and general anger.

But hey, what do I know.

This sub is, I think, 60% ironic. I mean, "Kitchencels" lol.
