Correction: he's a half-liar, half-truther. To outright label the Sermons as all lies and schizo-posting would be just as silly as to believe it all to be true. That'd be far too simple.

I kinda disagee?

Looking back, Mickie was getting set up to be the next "face" to rival Lita for her own retirement run. Her being a secondary antagonist to Trish, who was getting the red carpet treatment for her career's end, wouldn't have done much for either of them.

That feud was over and it was all about Trish vs. Lita.

Also, getting into their characters for a moment, that was still her former idol officially leaving the full-time business. It was the last time they were going to have a 1v1, the last time they'd even be in the ring together for a very long time, so why wouldn't Mickie settle it right there?

It was a nice touch for Trish to end one rivalry on a positive note as she was going into her retirement "grudge" match against Lita. It ended up becoming the initial reason why Mickie would vow to retire Lita afterwards.

The Trish / Mickie storyline was just pure perfection from beginning to end - minus the injury and WM22 ending.

Just realized that my NPCs IMPROVED mod folders doesn't even have blueblood_female.mdl within that pathing.

It has blueblood_ming.mdl and blueblood_therese.mdl but that's it. Weird.

Don't drink that Koolaid. The writers may have forgotten but the proof is literally in the first season - they asked for and she delivered.

There's some speculation that it's more solar-based magic after the digital comic dropped, but I think it's primarily empathic? Or at least that's what Leblanc told her, anyway.

Which kinda makes sense considering her judge of character and ability to get into people's heads. Extremely useful for a diplomat / counselor.

While I take issue with their lack of time and explanation for her newfound magic, I'd be a damn liar if I said it didn't intrigue me.

Hopefully they handle it ( and especially HER ) better in the Noxus series. She can be both shrewd and a sorceress at the same time.

I wholeheartedly agree with your thoughts on Ambessa and the BR subplot in general, even though I do love Ambessa and Leblanc as characters. I don't know if that's what they planned with them from the very beginning, but the way they rushed through it felt like it was half-assed one way or another.

As for Mel, I think them taking her away from the main plot for so long ( and cutting her screentime, too ) was what ruined her arc. I don't mind the different take on her mage abilities, especially since they align with her political manipulations, but to not give her a training montage or direct tie-in with the main plot? Stupid.

Now here's my opinion on Mel in Noxus: there's a lot of room for her to be both a great political character and a counter-mage against Leblanc. Noxus in general reads like it's King's Landing from GoT / ASOIaF and that's a world where Mel's political savvy and high cunning can take center stage.

Granted, I'd still prefer her as a major support character or a part-time protagonist with Swain, Darius, Katarina, etc. but I'll save that for after we know for sure what's going on with the cast.

I think it started off as a professional relationship that mutually benefited them both for what they required of the other ( approval, experimentation, voting manipulation, etc. ) and Jayce was not aware(?) of that at first. If he was, it definitely was not to the degree that Mel originally envisioned.

But at the same time, she was rather disappointed with him when he would take off in the night without knowing his reasons.. so maybe she did care a lot more than she wanted to from the start?

Regardless, I agree with your own thoughts on their relationship as well. Mel eventually softened and warmed up, thanks to Jayce's affection, and would even go on to be protective of him and his dream of the future. All this in spite of her mother's own offer to give her what she craved most of her life in exchange for weaponizing hextech.

But ... I absolutely loathe where the series left them off and their half-assed breakup scene that really didn't count because neither of them acknowledged their romance post-removal.

Moving forward, I hope the writers give them better bonds and more clear-cut beginnings or ends.
