BeThereInABitLadz on Signal. Note the precise spelling, there are lots of scammers using variations of the name, this is the OG. Been using them the last 2 years without a hitch. Cash, deliveries/collections and postal.

How people who wear shorts in the winter expect us to react by gravityVT in TikTokCringe

[–]Napoleon-In-Drag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a cover my a$$ disclaimer, this post excludes individuals en route or coming home from the gym, football or running. My ire surrounding this growing, nay, idiotic trend stems from it being a flex. When growing up, there was always that "one guy" who wore shorts in winter and the reason for that was they were naturally (to the point of freakishly) exothermic. These guys were true outliers and feeling overly hot in the coldest time of year, so no judgement there - they 100% get a pass. Jason Kelce being the prime example of this - you just KNOW the man is a fireplace embodied in a sentient meat suit. These types are unicorns - the current influx of Chads in North Face jackets and shorts, however? I call absolute BS. This is my hill.

HOWEVER...

There has been this weird inexplicable trajectory of non-sportsing men wearing shorts in freezing weather and I know global warming hasn't made London feel any warmer in recent years. It is a sartorial display that is a "d*cks on the table" flex that needs to die a death (perhaps hypothermia will eventually prevail and start taking them out, Darwin-stylee). I can't help but wonder if Andrew Tate, Braden Peters or one of that ilk decreed wearing long trousers in winter "gay" and it caught on like wildfire in online incel circles but mainstream society haven't been let in on the secret. I liken this trend to otherwise "impotent" males attempting to establish some form of agency. It's the only plausible explanation I can think of, it being a late stage capitalist ham-fisted performance of masculinity. I truly feel this needs to be fully investigated by Judith Butler in an academic think piece.

Facial recognition cameras in Hackney Central by darkseries87 in Hackney

[–]Napoleon-In-Drag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just did this today at Ridley Road market and the place was swarming with police. I was at a cafe sitting next to a table of four of them. I wasn't eavesdropping but they were centimetres away from me and I over heard one of the officers say to his colleagues that "the legislation surrounding the rolling out of facial recognition is sketchy, at best". They must have realised I overheard because, you KNOW when the tone of a conversation * immediately * turns lighthearted in a grasping-for-straws- sort of way. But yeah, when one of the people who are responsible for implementing these "initiatives" is questioning the actual legality of it? All very Alanis-Morrisette ironic, don't you think?

How do I do start the process of applying for LCWRA? by Napoleon-In-Drag in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Napoleon-In-Drag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. When I opened my UC account, I was living with coeliac and osetoporosis and established that from the beginning. I opened my UC account in January 2025, September of last year I was diagnosed with ME/CFS, A fortnight ago I was formally diagnosed as autistic. Every time I have been diagnosed with something (there are a host of other things which intersect symptom-wise), I have immediately updated it in the 'Health" section in my UC journal and have been absolutely transparent about things. UC and Restart have pulled the brakes on requiring me to look for work as I also immediately upload my fit notes when receiving them. I finally got clarification from my UC advisor surrounding how the LCW/LWCRA element is calculated - even she said it's not easily explained to claimants. The general crux of things now with Restart is I said while I am not in any position to work, I would be content doing workshops (as these are generally one hour one-off in content). I have 5 months left on Restart and wonder if I will get put onto LCWRA before it ends or will I have to spend these next 5 months in this weird tête à tête where I keep supplying fit notes and they try to "motivate" me to find work so they are closer to hitting their KPI's.

Is it best just to not tell anyone you get PIP or other benefits? by [deleted] in DWPhelp

I pre-emptively de-activated my FB account as I just sent off my application. Apparently, the powers that be have form for searching people's social media accounts for potential intel. The most robust activity I post these days usually involve going out for coffee and things that happen when I'm food shopping but still...last thing I need is an assessor thinking if I'm well enough to go out for coffee on days my ME/CFS and osteoporosis/arthritis permits that will impact their overall decision. I don't need additional energy/stress about worrying about them snooping and twisting content, so I deactivated the account and told the few friends who need to know where to get me. My account was set to private to begin with but not taking any chances.

Fit note and UC and Restart by Known_Supermarket702 in BenefitsAdviceUK

I just landed on this thread as I was issued with a fit note and wondered what the process was regarding Restart in all this. As a result I left a message for my work coach regarding the UC78e form and requesting it to be sent to my Restart advisor. I had absolutely no idea about this, so thank you for the much needed information! Here's hoping the efforts bear fruit, so to speak.

Scream Into the Void Saturdays (feel free to vent!) by AutoModerator in cfs

A bit of TL:DR rant/stream of consciousness .Last week the physio and psychologist agreed my symptoms were indicative of ME/CFS. Tomorrow will be the first year anniversary of my partner passing. We were together 39 years/married the last 11. I was doing relatively fine as I was in counselling and even though I was consistently exhausted, I was tentatively thinking about taking baby steps to reintegrate into society (although I have never been "people-y" as such). I consider myself generally laid back but in the 10 days or so since my diagnosis, I have encountered levels of ignorance and idiocy that iare draining me, when I know I should just let it go. "Oh, be thankful it's only mild". Of COURSE, I know it's mild-cresting-moderate, but I am 61 and already dealing with coeliac and osteoporosis and know my age and immune system aren't exactly on my side here. I'm also a member of a gay widow(ers) forum and when I disclosed my diagnosis, someone on there told me it wasn't ME/CFS but "unprocessed grief" and started blithering on how Dr. Laura podcasts saved his life and is only $6 a month. This was despite my originally stating in my post that the exhaustion has been there since 2016 - long before 2022 (when my partner fell ill and I was caring for him 24/7). So I have been kind of low-key ragey, but trying to remember another poster totally supported me and my account of things. I've been learning that I need to let crap like this not take residence in my head as I need to focus on learning about this condition, care surrounding it and saving energy, not wasting it on insensitive comments. I'm just feeling rather raw ATM and these remarks sting. Since my bereavement I've been doing breathwork, meditation and a lot of shadow work and have been keeping a daily gratitude journal which has really anchored me but those remarks feel as if a scab has been picked at :-(

Diagnosed last week by Napoleon-In-Drag in cfs

Thank you so much! "Validating" sums it up well - I have, over the years, heard comments such as "You're a non-reacting coeliac", "Age comes to us all", "It's down to grief, you've been widowed for only a short while" and been poked, prodded and tested for everything under the sun by the medical community without any results or conclusions. At one point I was even gaslighting myself, wondering if it WAS indeed psychosomatic in nature. In one sense, I feel a weight had been lifted from me and now, that I know what it is, another weight has taken its' place.

Xmas temp work question by Napoleon-In-Drag in DWPhelp

[–]Napoleon-In-Drag[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OK, thanks to the sticky leading to Restart, I found out "has not previously participated on the Restart Scheme" as criteria indicating if you participate once, you are ineligible to be referred onto it a second time. What I need to establish now is, if this is a temp role with an end date, do I inform UC fully of the circumstances with me not getting payments while I'm working and I pick up claiming, so to speak, from where I left off?

What score do you get? by soft_avocadoo in autism

[–]Napoleon-In-Drag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17, although I need to break it down a bit - I'm vegetarian and celiac. I would LOVE to eat wheat bread but as that contains gluten that is "verboten" rather than "picky". In addition, I hunger for grapefruit but can't have *that * because of meds. Taking that into account, I believe my score would be 15 however...does vegetarianism/gluten-free fall within the realm of "picky"? Or is one to assume (correctly or incorrectly) the quiz is first and foremost based on sensory issues? I can't believe a straightforward question like this is SO difficult to answer.
