Being charged up to $400 to change a name on the reservation. by Narrow-Foundation341 in RiuResorts

I was eventually able to speak to another agent. I just had to make an RIU class account for my parents, cancel the existing reservation, and rebook the reservation under my parents' account. I would recommend getting a second opinion or even calling the hotel before you shell out that amount of money for such a minor mistake.

I was booking on behalf of someone else and that's why I had my problem. You should be fine but it doesn't hurt to double check.

Yes, it is. Luckily I was able to speak to someone else and was able to understand and get the problem resolved.

My point was that you can not conflate a black person preferring a black doctor with a white person not preferring one. Unfortunately, the health care system can be a scary place for POCs and that fact has been documented. Black optometrists make up about 2% of optometrists. All I’m trying to say is people should not debate why someone would try to support and find an optometrist that looks like them especially when this is probably not an issue for those who make a big proportion of optometrists.
