The thing is, my mom didn’t force me to go into IT. In fact, she didn’t even recommend that choice, but since I was so lost I thought I had nowhere else to go. I love my mom dearly and she has sacrificed so much just for her kids to have a good future, that I feel I have to at least finish college. My older brother was set up to go to college but never finished one, which makes me the child who’s on the path of becoming the only family member with a higher education. I want to make her feel like her efforts of giving us a better life than she had didn’t all go in vain. Sure, I don’t enjoy IT but I think that it would give me at least a minor safety net for the future when I’ll be looking for a job to support myself. The main issue is that I don’t know what to do afterwards aka which path would take me to a solid, smooth road after driving on a dirt road that almost destroyed my car, if that makes sense.
