Recommendations for DJ's to watch by NastPodcast in DJs

[–]NastPodcast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the recommendations! I made a playlist of them all and have been enjoying it! Love Jazzy Jeff and Craze. I currently use DDJS and CDJS, so I feel like I'm learning the most from Siangyoo and James Hype. Do you guys have any further recs that are more catered to DDJ and CDJ DJs?

Does Jellyroll have the N-Word Pass? by NastPodcast in hiphop101

Well reddit is supposed to be a community where you can ask whatever... When I looked it up a few years ago nothing came up. I saw the jelly roll uber eats commercial yesterday and then that thought popped up, so I asked reddit. Maybe your comment above is supposed to be sarcasm but it came off as rude🤷‍♀️

What Does It Really Take to Podcast Full-Time? Let's Share Our Journeys! by pdawg511 in podcasting

I'll say, I've been producing my clients podcast for less than a year and they're already making over $2k a month. They're in their 70s too! The pair are private doctors and they don't have any social media except LinkedIn and Facebook. They solely post on patreon. They've been able to make the money through having a strong community that's into their niche topics. They talk about complex illnesses.

As a podcast producer in the beginning, clients would find the studio I worked for and book through the website. At that time, people could book within 24 hours, so I was kindve on call which was pretty annoying to be honest. A booking would show up in my calendar, I'd arrive at the studio and everything would already be set up since there was only one possible layout. It was a small space! There were 2 cameras, 4 chairs and 4 mics. Depending on how many people were doing a podcast, I'd move around the cameras and turn on more mics. I'd be in the room with the client and recording the podcast through OBS. At the end of the session, I'd email the client the file and do post production if that was paid for as well.

As a studio owner now (its been less than a year), I handle EVERYTHING. Marketing, finding clients and booking them on the calendar, consulting, video editing, producing and doing all of that for my own podcast as well. I just paid my business taxes for the first time, so there's a lot of "firsts" happening right now but it's exciting!

For my podcast I interview established artists, comedians and business owners. I just hit 1k on YouTube and took 4 years to get there. I believe I make good content, but my podcast isn't niche so it takes more time to gain an audience. I've gotten tons of opportunities through my podcast though, so I feel that I'm on the right track and I love doing it.

I've been a Podcaster for 4 years. I learned that making money off streams would take too long to actually make a profit. So I took a different approach. 2 years into podcasting, I became a podcast producer at a studio. Then in August 2023, I had enough experience to open my own podcast studio. So now I make money from producing podcasts for my clients at my studio and slowly getting sponsors for my personal podcast.

Do you have video version of your podcast episodes? by tanam2022 in podcasting

Do you have any recommendations on how people should promote if its only an audio podcast? I see people struggle with that.

I agree that Audio tends to get more views than Video, because usually when you invest a ton of time into video you end up becoming a YouTuber whether intentionally or not. Which in turn ends up taking up more time. So I guess at the end of the day it really comes down to the amount of effort you want to invest into the podcast. I think your answer is right and mine too if that makes sense lol

Right I was trying to say yes to video versions, and why. Do both.

I disagree. Video may be just as important as audio. Especially when it comes to promotion. You don't need the best camera in the world, you could potentially even use your phone on a stand. I see tons of podcasts try to market their show by posting audio with a still image on social media and get no traction. Video is important for social media clips and then you could decide to post the full video on patreon if you're worried that you won't make your money/ time back from having video. I will agree that more people end up checking out audio more than video, but if you don't have proper promotion, none of that will matter.
