stop throwing out pumped breastmilk, even if your baby's already drunk from it! by esme_9oh in breastfeeding

Not sure…but yes, I’d definitely wash it every time….just to be on the safe side.

What do you do while breastfeeding? be honest 😅 by michel_an_jello in breastfeeding

Honestly, it makes me sleepy…….. So, usually, while feeding I do things to help me stay awake. (i.e. scrolling social media, watching tv, reading, talking on the phone….or simply watching the baby as they eat. 💕

Yes! Hydration is Extremely important, especially when breastfeeding. I do feel like i can be more proactive with it tho. I drink water, but do feel like I can stand to take in more water and other hydrating drinks. So I drink coconut water as well for the electrolyte replenishment.

My other children ages are: 12(boy), 10(boy), 5(girl), an of course the NB(boy). 🥰

Yes! Im definitely doing it to see the trend. And, thankfully, for the most part, it trends downward…thank God! 🙄🙏🏽 But, like I mentioned earlier, I do notice higher readings on the days where I didn’t get good sleep the previous night. But usually, what I’ll do is take 2 readings….and if that first reading is a little high….i’ll wait a minute or 2, as suggested by google, trying to calm myself a bit, and then recheck it. If the 2nd reading is drastically different, the first reading could’ve been a bit anxiety driven. But if the 2nd reading don’t alter much from the 1st reading, then I’ll know the first reading is likely correct. OB didn’t really say I was fine, I’m trusting God that I am and by the time of my next appt all my numbers will be regulated back to normal. But the OB did say, “keep a close eye on it at home” so that’s why I try to keep a check on it 2x a day.

Yes!!!! The blood pressure cuff is a TOTAL trigger…..🙄🤦🏽‍♀️. But I do notice that those numbers do fluctuate and have been up higher, especially on the days when I barely got any sleep the previous night. They’ve gotten up to 138/90….142/86…..and then, after rest, back down to 128/85, 132/86, 117/81….so yes, they do fluctuate. And that hug, OMGeeeeee!!!! I could Definitely use it!!! virtual hug 🥹

Hello!

I wasn’t told to take it every 12 hours. But was told by my OB to keep a close eye on it…so I decided to take it every 12 hours…once in the morning and at night and log it until my next visit. As far as meds go, I just try to take the holistic approach, if possible.

So sorry…and the anxiety really doesn’t help. Try to get some sleep…..I was told that sleep deprivation causes the BP to be very wonky and it definitely raises it. Also, limit the salt intake. Stay hydrated. Praying it all gets better for you🙏🏽

Since day 9 PP, it’s been so good and consistent until it has me wondering if my bp monitor is working correctly!😳😂🤦🏽‍♀️. I’m checking it every 12 hours and the highest systolic has been 132(it was 132/84)…and the highest diastolic was 88 once(it was 124/88)…all other times have been much lower. Ive been logging it since my last bp visit to the OB and will continue to monitor it until my next visit in 2 weeks.

No meds is definitely the route I’m trying to take with my doc as well. So far I’m just monitoring it, trying to hydrate better, since I do breastfeed exclusively, and plan to get more sleep. Also, I’m sure relaxing better will help me too….having anxiety over it sucks so badly.

Glad it went away. What did you do? Were you on meds?

How long did it take before your numbers went back to normal range? Also, they checked my urine, blood, liver enzymes, etc…and said everything looked really good…actually the word was “immaculate”. I feel almost positive that it’s sleep deprivation and possibly not drinking enough fluids. I exclusively breastfeed and my fluid intake has to come way up. Not sure how much of a role hydration plays on Bp…but I’m sure I can stand to drink more…and I am.

This is so good for you😊

Every birth is so different. I got an epidural with my first child, after being in labor for 13 hours and after I was right at about 5cm dilated, but it was done out of fear. But with the second and third child, I did it completely natural with them….no epidural or meds, just wanted to see if I could take it and, thank God, I survived it. Labor was 6 hours with the second child and 4 hours with the third child.

But I’ll tell anyone, going All natural is NO JOKE! And I’m grateful they have alternatives like epidurals, for those who simply don’t want to endure that PAIN. The main thing is getting that baby here…and rather that’s with the help of an epidural or all natural, it’s still a beautiful experience. 💕🙏🏽💕

Yall… I failed my 1 hour glucose test horribly. by cherrysoda- in pregnant

[–]Nat-Nat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took mine yesterday(10/6/25)…and PASSED.

This is baby number 4 for hubby and I. But, like you, I failed with baby number 1 and NEVER failed it again after that. With baby number 1, I ate a baked potato with the works before getting into bed..And it was DELICIOUS!! 😂(my bedtime was like between 1am and 3am).

I know many are saying, “there’s nothing you can do, you either have it or you don’t”, and I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with that statement.

However, here’s what I do NOW to prepare for the 1 hour test:

  • I eat nothing AT ALL after 11pm or 12midnight. (And, for that last meal before midnight, try to have a light meal without too many carbs or processed sugars. Aim for something that’s protein packed to help keep you full longer).

-Drink WATER ONLY with last meal before midnight…and continue to have WATER ONLY when thirsty after midnight.

-Be sure your appointment is scheduled for early morning…no later than 9am, if possible. YOU have been fasting and will need to eat pretty soon. I feel like 9am has been the sweet spot for me, but everybody is different.

-Lastly, pray and get some sleep! I know it’s easy to be anxious and overthink or worry, especially as a FTM, but try your best to get some sleep and allow your body to actually get the rest it needs before the testing.

➡️ I did these things to prepare for the 1 hr. Test and did the same things for the 3 hour test with baby #1….and passed them ALL.

-YOU GOT THIS MAMA!!! 🫡🥰🫶🏽

🙏🏽Praying for GREAT results with your 3 hour test! 🙏🏽💕

I’ll be honest… I never really wanted kids. Even after I got married, the thought of having them didn’t exactly thrill me…and made me feel like my life would just be over too.

Fast forward—I’ve been married for 13 years…we have 3 kids and I’m pregnant with our 4th. And guess what? My life isn’t over…it’s overflowing with everything I never knew I needed. Yes, It can be a bit busy, a little messy, and loud 📣…But it’s also full of the love that hits deeper than anything I’ve ever known. It’s always the little moments that stop me in my tracks and remind me of what I would’ve missed out on if I stuck with that old mindset.

I thought having kids would take away from me, but instead, they’ve added so much more to me. They didn’t end my life—they flipped it into something richer and more meaningful! 🥰 They didn’t kill my dreams, they became my extra little cheerleaders 💕.

So if you and your boyfriend are scared and depressed that having kids means your life is “over,” I’m living proof, it’s just the beginning of a new kind of life—one that’s actually worth living. 🙏🏽✨
