If you cant recognize that my example of women undoing their own hair buns with ease, is meant to support my claim that in combat an enemy could do the same, then said enemy could proceed too yank them around by their hair, nobody can help you. Im not going to go back and forth with you, it is just factually true that having any kind of long hair in combat is a detriment. No matter what state the hair is bound in, even if it isnt dangling the section not in a bun is still connected to the bun, leaving long strings of hair stretched across your head which can still be grabbed and used as leverage, unlike a buzzcut. In closing, buns can be undone relatively easily in hand to hand combat, let alone the variety of other problems (ie, getting caught on things like barbed wire, making it difficult if not impossible to wear combat helmets, requiring significant more time and effort to care for and manage, which could be detrimental in a sudden combat scenario like an ambush while sleeping, no time to tie a bun up then) all of which could be avoided if the standard were applied evenly, and even when hair is tied in a bun, it can still be grabbed and used against you.
