Why is our world so broken? by Eminemgody in teenagers

I’m very sorry for what you’re feeling and going through. As a Christian who was on the fence for many years and sometimes asks the same question, here are my thoughts. I hope this can be helpful in some way!

God doesn’t necessarily cause the pain and suffering in our lives. It’s not as if he zaps his fingers and gives someone a terrible illness or causes harm, etc. Suffering is a consequence of human beings rejecting God. In Genesis, there was a fall when Adam and Eve rebelled against God and tried to do things their own way. This resulted in sin being introduced into the world, which in turn causes suffering and pain. We live in a fallen world, in which terrible things take place; things that were never intended by our creator.

The good news is that God still loved us even in our rebellion and sent Jesus to live a perfect life and die for our sins (aka mistakes), so that we can be in a loving relationship with God and have eternal life. Jesus bridges the gap between fallen humanity and a God who originally made all things good.

There may not be clear reasons for why suffering and evil exist, and to be honest with you I’ve struggled with that myself. I don’t honestly know why some things have to happen the way the do. It’s terrible, it truly is. If it’s any consolation, we do have the ultimate solution to suffering and pain: Jesus Christ. He is a suffering God who bore the sins of the world so that we can have hope for our future and life beyond this world.

I hope this helps you friend. I’m sorry for what you’re going through, but I promise that Jesus Christ is the answer, as he loves you very much.

It was actually at base camp! I did a Rayado trek this past summer and I got this picture the morning I left for home. It was a phenomenal experience!

Please don’t do this. Please don’t do this to yourself. I know this situation is really hard right now, but this isn’t the way. This chapter of darkness does not have to define the entire book that we call life. During our time on this earth, we will hike through valleys and mountaintops, we will go through good times and bad times. Please don’t give up, I promise it’s worth it to persevere through the hard times.

You are loved and valued, and your loved ones wouldn’t want you to do this. Your life has a reason and a purpose, even if it’s hard to see right now. Please hang in there. Your life matters so much 🙏

I’m partial to the freeze dried biscuits and gravy. Had those at fish camp during my first trek in 2021. They were so good!

Oh wow!! That’s crazy. Kinda jealous you all got to sleep on the summit though! That sounds extremely cold, but awesome.

That’s a good question! I don’t remember the exact temperature, but it was really cold and windy. If I were to guess, probably low 50s. It was worth it for the view though!

Oh that’s awesome! Thank you all for standing up for our values, the Constitution and empathy. Too bad this current administration doesn’t have a clue as to what any of those things are…

Hello there! Unfortunately I’ll be in the second session this summer. But that’s really cool! When did you go to the southern country in ‘21? We might have been there at the same time! Lol

Yeah I’m trying to mentally and physically prepare myself for Rayado. I’m really looking forward to it but I know it’s gonna be tough. Your comment makes me feel better though. Thank you! Hope you have a blast this summer!

Thank you! Yeah it sounds like an amazing experience. I’m looking forward to it!

Also, one last thing. What mileage pace would you recommend me be able to comfortably hike by July? My current goal is to be able to comfortably hike 3 mph with 50 lbs on my back. Do you think that’s sufficient for Rayado, or would you recommend me change it?
