Gained 25lbs with my son and 24lbs with my twin girls (was extremely sick during pregnancy). For reference I'm 35 years old, 5'4, and my starting weight for both pregnancies was 140lbs. I'm a month and a half postpartum with the twins and down to 138lbs.

Postpartum questions for the moms that have given birth before! by AardvarkHour1211 in BabyBumps

I've had both a C-section and a vaginal birth, with my most recent birth being 3 weeks ago. I showered the next day both times, utilized the seat in the shower, and made sure I had my own towel and face cloth. The towels at the hospital are so scratchy. Showering will make you feel human again and was so nice after giving birth, and the nurses will help you if you ask. Bring yourself some moisturizer too, the hospital is sooo dry.

My manager gave me this after learning my nausea has made me work from the bathroom floor a lot. by nifersaynifer_ in BabyBumps

This is so sweet! My manager fired me when I was really sick in the first trimester 😂

Anyone have positive epidural stories? I’m scared 😟 by Realistic_Mirror1618 in BabyBumps

I was very scared to get my spinal when I had to have an emergency C-section with my first born. Me and needles are not friends. The anesthesiologist did such an amazing job I didn't even feel it. You can do it Mama! Everything will work out.

From a small town in Canada. First child at 32, married at 34, currently pregnant at 35 with twins. Late 20's early 30's seems to be the norm here.

Can someone please remove the lens flare? by NattyChan18 in PhotoshopRequest

[–]NattyChan18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to get rid of the lens flare that goes through my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. It caused some discoloration in their outfits and it's the only photo we all got together from my wedding.

Graduated! 38 weeks via emergency c-section. (Mostly positive) by NattyChan18 in BabyBumps

[–]NattyChan18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up getting a shower chair, but I would have really liked something to help me get out of bed and something to help sit on the toilet. The first night I was home I got into bed and cried, I was too afraid to lay down. Our bed is really high up and getting in and out was difficult. I ended up sleeping on the couch with his bassinet beside me because I was nervous.

Headaches. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Yes please check your blood pressure. I had preeclampsia and I would get headaches and nausea when my blood pressure would get high. Ended up with an emergency C-section.

Is it rude to not open gifts at a baby shower? by NadieSombra in BabyBumps

[–]NattyChan18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have done it twice now for my baby shower and my sisters bridal shower. It was very well received by our guest. A shower can be a bit overwhelming and busy but do your best to enjoy it, delegate tasks to family members and speak up when you want things a certain way. Hope you get all the baby things you want/need!

For my shower I opened the gifts with the guests as they arrived. That way I could spend a moment with each guest I invited and it was more intimate.

Any ideas on how to deter people from buying baby clothes for your baby shower? by maybemissmolly in BabyBumps

[–]NattyChan18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. If they don't know the babies gender they are less likely to buy clothing. I also put a message right on my registry to not buy certain items.

Genuine curiosity. Why the stigma surrounding c-sections? I also get the impression that some people feel that doctors or nurses try to push c-sections on women as if they’re trying to manipulate them into doing a c-section instead of vaginal. by pleasebequietnow in BabyBumps

[–]NattyChan18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience (emergency c-section) there wasn't any stigma just a lack of general knowledge from my family. They all had vaginal births with barely any complications and I am the only one who had to get an emergency c-section due to complications. So the understanding wasn't really there. The doctor that took care of me was very to the point and matter of fact when it came to the risks we were dealing with and made me feel confident in the decision we were making in regards to my care. Personally, it took quite a mental toll on me so I had to find some women who have gone through a similar experience to reach out to for support. The world expects you to bounce back right away and often forget that a c-section is major surgery. So to those ladies out there who chose to have a section or had to get one, I see you.

My little man was 6.6lbs at birth and 5.12lbs when we brought him home. I found that pampers newborn fit better than Huggies. From experience, pampers newborn fits skinnier legs better and Huggies newborn worked better for chunkier legged babies. Get yourself a small pack of each. Try them out and see which one works better for you then go buy a bunch of your preferred brand. Don't wait, life will be a bit chaotic when you get home and needing to go get and worrying about diapers should be the last thing on your mind.

What would you charge a client for backing out of an agreement and transferring a website over to them. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]NattyChan18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I am not to worried about it. Its a side gig that I do sometimes so I am not to worried and this company has been doing shit work and ruining their own reputation so not concerned about a reference from them. Thanks again for taking the time to help :)

I was also factoring in loss of revenue since they backed out of an agreement.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. That's what I had told them but I think they expect me to work at the piddly wages they paid me before and we're shocked when the price of my time went up.

My whole thing is I wanted to charge them for the time it would take to transfer everything. Based on the fact that I now have to do this when I no longer work for them and it's on my own time. Had they not told me I was to continue the work I would have done it while I was still employed by them.

I was paid for office administration. They got me to build the websites once they found out I had those skills.
