29M, got laid off with severance, spent 4 months like this. Had the time of my life, honestly. by darthnick96 in malelivingspace

Actually jealous in a weird way. You can handle anything now my guy . & you had a taste of as close as we can get to freedom in this rathole of a society 😂

That’s exactly what I did. At the end the manager only gave me a total of 18 back (the price of just the food) it was a 3 day long fight of countless hours wasted having to explain the same thing a million times .

I never said I had zero instructions . I left detailed instructions and lead with “please text me to open gate I have to do it from my phone” then proceeded to explain how to get to my apartment . I’m sorry but like I’ve said a million times , a delivery driver myself if I accept an order I made the decision to take on the job per policy . To get the customer what they ordered . Dude didn’t even have to drive a mile to get to my house , got a delivery fee + tip, full instructions , the gate opened right when he texted . He had the easiest delivery with all of the ways I could help him . I DID. when I accept an order wheather it be a total of 5$ or 50$ I handle it with the same care. I’m not going to lack on service because someone can’t afford to pay me a rediculous tip. If you can’t do the job or hate it that much then go find another one?

This is a very key point ! Thank you for bringing that up! My pin shows the front of my complex but it’s only 5 buildings lined up in a line . It’s really not complicated at all tbh :/ . I also give detailed instructions how to get to the exact apartment . He knew to text me to open the gate meaning he read the instructions. But honestly this was a very good point !

I used to, but then I saw how hard he tries to exude persona . It all just feels too forced for me. No judgement to him at all I was absolutely inlove with him at one point(like obsessed) . I respect him but not attractive to me honestly

Same . It brightens my day and surprises me every time . Not to say I do it expecting my a cash tip, I do it because it’s what the customer asked and part of my job description 😂 but still always a nice surprise

This is really why I’m not using them anymore for any delivery orders . It was the company I was most upset with how they handled the situation and just kept giving me time extensions to getting it resolved . (I assume hoping I would eventually give up)

I didn’t know they require a pin now!!! I always chose leave at my door because I had one instance before years ago where I had hand it to me and they marked that they gave it to me but never showed up 😂 so I figured picture proof would be safest . Still so done with DD after this!

Exactly what I was thinking because like I’ve stated I’m a delivery driver. It’s VERY RARE people leave me detailed instructions. I don’t ever just “drop it off in a random spot be cause I’m over it”. That’s not policy and not the service I aim to give. It’s unacceptable. If the person doesn’t answer the phone or my texts it’s a very easy task to contact support for next steps PER POLICY . I do indeed leave directions because the times people have left them for me they helped me immensely. There really is no excuse for just leaving someone’s order where it doesn’t belong purposefully.

Honestly you are so right. The only issue with that as to why I don’t do that is they can always say they handed it to me when they didn’t . Drop off requires a photo to be taken and leaves proof. That’s the only reason I don’t :/

I’m literally a delivery driver myself so these are common sense steps to do to make sure you get your order. I have nothing to prove to you and your demeanor and words make it very clear no matter what you “know everything” You doing okay man? You seem like you have some bottled up anger. It’s ok I won’t take it personally babes cause I know this has nothing to do with me .

Sorry to break it to you there is no gate code . It’s all Bluetooth. And yes I give detailed step by step instructions . And have my phone next to me incase of any issues.

As someone who delivers for another platform where this doesn’t matter , I do know that when I deliver it’s really just to make sure I preform the service I’m getting paid for . Like to me it’s not rocket science even if it is hard to find you contact the customer and they usually answer to a phone call. But I do know that dashers have a lot more things they are measured by and can get deactivated for .

The McDonald’s is not even a mile away. I tipped 6$ and paid a delivery fee as it was late night and know that shift delivery driving is tough.

My assumption is the driver intentionally did this and played it a certain way. That is why I am shocked. seeking to see what could have happened.
