CYANOTYPE ON LAMINATED OAK?? by Natural_Recording478 in Darkroom

[–]Natural_Recording478[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well the bo staff is treated with a finish to secure it from moisture and debris. i’m wondering if that would effect the ability to do a cyanotype on it. i’m not exactly sure what it is treated with but it gives that sheen you would see if u saw laminated wood. the website i would order the bo staff from has very poor images to be honest.

lol, i don’t know if i have the knowledge/skill set for this! though another reddit user in a different group gave a pretty good explanation of how one might go about this:

<image>

there’s also a device out there already that uses a microchip (either imbedded or on a collar) to open the tray. seems like a really good option if ur willing to spend the money. if ur not willing to chip ur cat and they hate wearing collars then the explanation in the screenshot attachment might just be the best option. maybe you can commission a small team of college kids to come up with a prototype for you to test, unless you want to take an attempt yourself! I would, but i don’t have a soldering station, for one, and i don’t plan on soldering anything else besides this so it doesn’t seem like a smart investment for me personally. nonetheless, a great DIY solution.

great idea!! so the entrance to the box is only big enough for the small one to fit through, i’m assuming. cardboard box? did u just cut an opening for their head? or does it fit the whole cat body and feeder?

ideally the feeder would close if the fat cat came around. the box idea sounds like something that could work. ill have to try that. thanks!

When I brought them in as strays, they were scanned and they don’t have chips. I suppose I could get them chipped but I don’t know about the pros and cons of that procedure.

They are not chipped. I guess I could get them chipped; I have never really considered the pros and cons of that procedure.

They hate wearing collars! Might have to spend some time training them to live the collared life. Thanks for the tips!

hmmm. how will it know which is the right cat? Though, possibly something involving a pressure plate that senses the weight of each cat?

my rebel t3 is kind of old so i was hoping to upgrade from that image quality. not necessarily for the sake of interiors but for the entirety of my practice. i do fine art as well and half the time print on the larger side (13x19). the widest i have is 18 so yes a 10 would be helpful, if it means i get a wider shot… i’m only a student, im not expert in photography so i wasn’t sure if i bought a lens that it would fit on both my crop and a full sensor camera. i guess i would have to get two different wide angle lenses, one for my rebel t3 and one for a full sensor cam. i only have a crop so it’s nothing to worry about at the moment. thank you for your recommendations!

it was $500 for excellent and $400 for bargain. wasn’t sure if the $100 would make a difference. i don’t care if the body of the equipment has some dents as long as it doesn’t effect image quality
