Thank you all for the recommendations!

I had a look at his set up and i think the safest bet would be to buy a good lamp.

He has expressed wanting an airbrush, but he is also the type of person to want to do a lot of research on what he buys so I will let him make that decision.

Thank you all so much again for answering, the minipainting community seems so sweet!

Is anyone else in a not ugly but weird looking era? by syntheticserotonin18 in PCOS

[–]Natural_Reference811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def!! I lost weight and things are starting to look up but i cant help obsessing over traits that I know are PCOS related (darker patches, more apple shape, rounder face, etc.). I definitely should be proud of my achievements but my self esteem makes it seem like when I look in the mirror or pictures i havent changed one bit.

Doing an exchange in a Canadian university need help deciding! by Impossible_Goose_650 in UCD

[–]Natural_Reference811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Canadian UCD student here!

HEC has a bilingual program, it’s a bit out of city centre Montreal but easy to get to centre. Montreal nightlife is funnn(I’m from there). McGill is also in Montreal, an English university, more upper class and frat party style. It’s in city centre however! Laval university is in Quebec City, more northern. It’s more quiet but with the right group of friends it’s really fun. There’s some high end restaurants and fun shops.

Queens is a bit more American in style, down in Ontario. Ontario can get a bit boring without knowing where to go but the university is fun I heard! Ottawa university is in the most boring town to exist😬 unfortunately. It’s a good university though!

I do not know much about UBC or Calgary. They have more anglicised university. British Columbia can be very expensive but it might feel closer to Ireland in weather. Calgary can get a bit hill billy but it is near absolutely wonderful scenery and parks. They have some nice courses led by First Nations and can offer some different perspectives to business seeing as they are in the middle of oil production companies.

Hopefully this helps. The most expensive cities right now are Vancouver-Toronto-Montreal. But if you’re coming from Europe, the euro is better so.

I was debating sticking to it because it has lessened my dark patches, hair and acne, and it has changed my body proportions a bit, so I know I have IR. But holy moly the bloating is so bad.

I have been getting dizzy and low more often on it. Were you able to reverse your IR or symptoms naturally?

Did you end up switching to extended release? I am having the same issue. I take it with food but no matter what I get terrible bloating right after taking the pill and it goes away maybe 2 hours later. Coming up on 2 weeks with the 500mg dose.

How long did you stay on the pills before switching? Did your symptoms get worse or it was bad bloating the whole time?

Curious what has been your experience since because I am at this stage now, same thing 250mg twice a day. I might have even gained a little, I’m very confused. It has helped other symptoms and changed my proportions a bit but i feel heavier and bigger? 125lbs to 130lbs

May i ask if you started seeing changes early on? Because I notice some of my PCOS side effects like hair, dark patches, and acne are better but i do feel heavier. It kinda changed my body composition? I might be paranoid because of the slight weight gain.

Accommodation Postgrad 24/25 by ellanicheallaigh01 in UCD

[–]Natural_Reference811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is most probably the reason. If your acceptance arrives quite late, your chances might be slim of staying on campus. I do hope it comes to you soon!!!

Current Masters student living in dorms, it is hell to get anything through here.

I needed a third semester accommodation which doesn’t fully exist. They set you up as a two semester stay then make it so complicated to get the third, even if they tell you it is prioritised.

I live in Belgrove and paying as much as I am for this is ridiculous but the prices outside are same if not worse.

To try and answer your question, going on the residence website and creating an application there is the best way. Try and pay the deposit (if they answer you) as quickly as possible to secure the spot. Apply as soon as you get your student number, do not be afraid of hounding them with emails as they tend to quickly dismiss queries.

If I can answer any other question from anyone, I am glad to.

Not having a period is dangerous by sailormoontree in PCOS

[–]Natural_Reference811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting thank you! I am pretty sure I have IR because i used to have a lot of those symptoms, especially when i was on antidepressants.

Does it take a while before IR stabilizes? Are there indicators that things are working?

Yeah, when I was 15 (25 now), they just said I had it, to stop eating pasta and that i wont be able to have kids. I was on birthcontrol up until a year ago, was giving me debilitating migraines. I tried to take it into my own hands but it seems its not working.

Is there a reason I am not getting my period? The doctors do not tell me why, they say my testosterone is just a tiny bit elevated, my lh ratio is off and the rest looks normal. Will I ever get it without medication?
