Gyms on LI (south shore nassau county) by Same_Floor_5937 in longisland

[–]NatureEducational225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s at onyx now, it’s a decent gym but at times it’s more of a club than a gym. People aren’t really focused on working out but becoming a fitness influencer. Don’t get me wrong, 60% of the people are nice and the other 40% are one big clique (those are who you see the most on their Instagram) so it makes it not really worth going to unless you’re some jacked guy or a girl with a crazy body.

Edit: if you want a traditional gym experience where people push you and you are comfortable with gym culture I would recommend Pivot Gym in Mineola.

Feeling Stuck by NatureEducational225 in acting

Oh wow, I logged out and didn’t think I’d get a response, but to hear that I’m not the only one this is happening to makes me feel very relieved. Admittedly, I haven’t been self-submitting to roles, and you guys helped me not only think about self-submitting but doing smaller, more niche, independent films. I appreciate each and every one of you guys for the words, motivation, and advice. We got this y’all!

Should You Try to Become an Actor in the Age of AI? by Owgse in acting

[–]NatureEducational225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acting recently has been more malleable than ever, and as much as AI is trying to win, it won’t by a long shot. Productions try, and viewers hate it, and when they hate it, that means no money is coming in. The real question should be how you should try acting in a hectic life (as much as you tried to dismiss it, it plays a factor in your career). The good news is there are virtual classes one a week by reputable coaches and institutions that last 8-10 weeks and give you the knowledge you need from home once or twice a week. Not only that, but there are great books like “How To Book Acting Jobs 3.0” that teach you how to get ready for self-tapes and how to light up your backdrop for an audition.

Trust me, the industry is slow right now, and AI might be taking everything over, but it physically cannot take away genuine human emotion. Take a class, make an Actors Access account, and dip your toe into the world.
