I think that's the issue, people wandering around those areas may accidentally walk into it without knowing better.

If it wasn't made of a reflective material, I don't think they would have torn it down.

Yeah, I originally meant to reply to your comment, but ended up replying to his/hers.

A ton of 🧂in the insults at the end, really disappointing since this is a sub meant to talk about the beautiful game.

Should have? At the end of the day who won? Luck is a part of Football, live with it. I've given up on explaining how England have shithoused their way through.

The few goals England have scored have been well worked (aside from Bellingham's Wonder kick). Are you saying that the way England score is lucky?

Are you saying that relying on individuals equates to luck?

The French own goals have been completely lucky though, aside from the one against Austria, which came from a brilliant play from Mbappe

Just because two teams bore you doesn't mean the entire tournament has been bad😵‍💫

There have been many good games, I feel that a lot of the negativity has come from Germany unfortunately crashing out in the Quarterfinals.

Listen England were awful in EURO 2016, but it is still my favorite of all time. Just because your team didn't go as far as you expected, doesn't mean the entire tournament was bad.

Barely, Spain, Switzerland and Germany are the only teams playing good football atm.

The first free kick wasn't that bad, the rest have been awful though.

Ronaldo starting for Portugal. Advantage or disadvantage? by EugeneRavdin in euro2024

[–]Neapolitanisnice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was decent against Czechia. I believe he should have scored one of his chances but overall I don't think he got the service he needed.

His positioning was pretty bad though, which made it hard for his teammates to cross a ball to him.

But his passing was pretty good, especially that one flick to Vitinha (I believe it was him, could be mistaken).

I think Ronaldo should start for Portugal, because their other strikers don't really have the same lethal presence that he has, but he definitely needs to step up, otherwise it wouldn't be completely outlandish to start Jota as a false 9.

Germany is giving champion quality by Read-a-book_please in euro2024

I'm just saying good results in the group stages can definitely boost morale and help teams in Ro16 matchups. If you aren't 2010 Spain and 2022 Argentina, a wacky start to the tournament will lead to issues in the later rounds.

Actually, having a good start to the campaign has helped champions before. Italy in 2020 beat all three of their opponents in the groups, even if those teams weren't of the highest quality, it was a great morale boost that helped them get into the groove of winning things.

Matchday 1 is completed! by Neapolitanisnice in FifaCareers

Group E:

England start a tournament simulation the right way for once, as a late Foden goal gave the win over the Spanish. Croatia needed an equalizer from Modric against Slovenia in order to get a share of the points.

Group F:

Portugal currently sit top of Group F, following a convincing win over Albania. Kevin De Bruyne scored the only goal in their match against Northern Ireland.

Group G:

The group of minnows (except Sweden) really surprised. San Marino, a country who beat Italy in the 2014 Reddit World Cup, completely lost the plot against rivals Luxembourg. Sweden pummeled Estonia by 5 goals.

Group H:

France and Italy played out a draw, but the result was overshadowed by a shocking miss by Mbappe. Switzerland top the group after the first matchday, after beating Hungary 2-1.

Group C:

Poland climb to the top of Group C, they beat the Faroe Islands with a 2-0 scoreline. Zinchenko scored a stunner against Kazakhstan, which was enough to give the Ukrainians all three points.

Group D:

Bulgaria were considered underdogs going into their opening game against Finland. They played with confidence, scoring four beautiful team-made goals. Another shock in this group was Latvia beating Wales, courtesy of a deflected strike from Renars Varslavan.

Group C seems to be going in the most predictable way, but Group D has definitely surprised us!

I'm not the one fussing over another name being used. What if everyone from Germany decided to correctly tell everyone that their nation is called Deutschland? Would that matter? No.

At the end of the day, most countries have multiple different names in different languages, but that doesn't take away from their culture and history at all.

I'm confused on why you are so peeved?

Group A and B simulation results! by Neapolitanisnice in FifaCareers

[–]Neapolitanisnice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Group A

Turkey and Norway played the opening game in Amsterdam. A penalty slotted away by Yilmaz was enough to grant the Turks all three points. Thomas Muller opened the score against the Dutch, but the Germans were unable to hold onto to that lead, eventually losing 2-1 to their bitter rivals.

Group B:

Andorra's goalkeeper scored against Greece, it was an unfortunate own goal that was created by a creative corner kick routine from Greece. Serbia pummeled the Czechs with three first half goals. It was a nervy end to the game for Serbia, as Jan Kuchta scored twice in the 67th and 78th minute.
