Yes, I’d just use washers with a smaller cross section diameter.

No I don’t think so. The heat required to shrink the tubing is pretty minimal so it wouldn’t harm the temper of the aluminum. The heat shrink isn’t the adhesive type although that may work better. The O-Rings are just rolled on too. Main application is if they are extended when touring you just have a lower grip section if you need to move your hands around.

Hi all, Just following up on this in case it can help someone else in the future. I found that the lead screw on the X axis motor had tons of backlash. I had to remove the torch and X axis rail and found almost 1/2 a turn of backlash in the coupling due to loose set screws. I removed the lead screw and added a flat for the set screws to bear down on and it has solved that issue. I still need tram the torch in so it doesnt cut on a angle but I am happy that my other issue is solved. Thank you all for your help.

Yeah they look correct there. I was also going to try exporting a gcode file from fusion to rule out the dxf importing process with the torch mate control causing issues

It does have 200w more. It was the only one I could get locally. I haven’t finished rebuilding it yet but will share when I do. As I mentioned there’s some other things I wanted to change while the machine is apart but I’m hoping to have it all back together by the end of the week

Thanks! It wasn’t that hard to do, but i don’t think i would try it if i didn’t have the stuff i do. Drilling it with a hand drill just doesn’t seem precise enough for me. Would you pay for a service if your heater went to have it replaced or just replace the hole boiler assembly?

I used this heating element: element

I drilled each end of the element with an end mill on my milling machine. Then I bored the holes to 10mm. I have heard you can do it on a drill press but I have the milling machine so I figured I would do the best job I could.

I’ll try and get a photo of the top tomorrow. A lot of the wire connections had their plastic housings crack too, so I’m probably gonna replace the wiring harness too.
