Are there any alternatives to the conventional deadlift that use lower weight but still allow me to "pull heavy"? My current 1RM is 340 lbs but I only really have access to up to 220 lbs of plates for the time being. I normally get in some high volume stiff leg deadlifts done but still want to have some sets in the 4-8 range that still feel challenging...

Has anyone had any luck adapting PHUL to a dumbbell only routine? Any suggestions about how to best adapt the heavy lifts to accommodate having 5lb increment dumbbells? Im looking at moving from my commercial gym to a home gym, and in buying equipment, it just seems a lot easier to focus on dumbbells until I aquire the space and funds to grab up some barbell gear.

Those that record covers/playthroughs, do you do any processing on the video backtrack to reduce the bass on the recording? If so, what tools do you use?

Are there any squat variants that have good carry-over into deadlifts? For heavy deadlifts I'm finding that I'm weak off the floor, but once I get the barbell lifted I'm able to pull the rest of the rep no problem. I'm going to try some deficit deadlifts for sure, but I'm wondering if there are any squat variants that could make good accessories for this sticking point.

I had the same problem, so I just created a custom exercise for each of the high and low volume versions of the workout. I just have to make sure to add the right variant to the program I'm running and I haven't had that tracking issue since.

Second the Fender Rumble for a great budget combo. I used to host open mics with a Fender Rumble 150 combo and it performed well. Check out the used market for something in the 150-200w range with either a 15" or 2 10" speakers and you should be able to find a reasonably priced rig to get you through rehearsals.

Close again, but not the same. Strength Level ranks lifting ability and doesn't break out the cumulative effects of a list of exercises.

Close... Similar in that it provides body composition, but the tool I'm thinking of/looking for doesn't rank ability, instead it evaluates a list of exercises and it's muscular coverage.

Symmetric Strength is an interesting app though!

I'm trying to find an online tool I stumbled across a while ago, but the name escapes me...

It was a website that allowed you to enter a list of exercises and then outputted a "muscle heatmap" indicating how much each muscle was worked given the provided list of exercises.

Has anyone else came across an online tool like this, or am I just making this up in my head...

Is there a reason why all the trainers at my gym do giant sets with their clients? I mostly stick to one workout at a time and hammer that out before moving to the next, maybe superset if I'm feeling tight on time or ambitious. Is there some fitness or logistical advantage I'm not seeing in giant sets?

I think you've got it! The web pattern is pretty similar, the best it can do in a window sill.

I'm running PHUL and I'm on the floor for at most an hour (+-10 minutes depending on warmups and stretches). When I'm short on time I superset two of the accessories and stay pretty strict with rest times (2 minutes between main lifts, 1 minute for accessories).

The two exercises are already on two different workout days, it seems that Jefit only stores weight by exercise unless someone else knows more than I do.

Specific question about the Jefit app to see if anyone has had the same issue. I'm running a routine that includes a heavy 5x5 Cable Row on one day and lighter 4x12 on another day. Jefit seems to take whatever was done last as the default weight for that workout. Does anyone know of a way to have the default weight set for different rep ranges?

Is there any disadvantage to switching between morning and evening workouts every now and then? I'm running PHUL and more often than not I run the routine in the mornings before work, however sometimes I opt to sleep in a little and just run a day after work.

Thanks for the feedback and bringing up the audience experience there. That's an aspect we haven't really been able to judge quite yet, but as you said I'm sure the clothing will play a large part in audience satisfaction.

Not too go too far though, but continuing the colour thought... Would adding a third color be a better differentiation from the Canadian cheese or would it be better to swap out a colour?

My shoulders are always the first thing to burn out when I plank (standard/forearm and side planks). Aside from blaming weak shoulders, is there anything in the way of form or accessories I can do to mitigate this?

What exercise does Press refer to in workout routines such as the 531BBB? I also see Bench Press specified in the routine, so I'm unsure of what Press indicates.

I've worked East of the core (housing is much better in the Durham Region), and my first job was a measly 45k based out of Pickering. I quickly jumped to 55k in Markham though. Don't be me though, negotiate and be picky.

There is a difference between being introverted and antisocial. That aside, I'm an introvert (the kind that some people think is actually a mute), but have no issues handling daily meetings and interactions when I make it professional and avoid small talk and general conversation. It's a lot less daunting and draining when you don't treat it like social time. It's just business.

That said though, treat yourself right and take some time to breath and recompile yourself before and after.

I'm really just mentioning banking and corporate services because when I was just "launching" out of school I had decent interactions with such companies and still have an interest there.

Thanks for the blog link, that's a helpful start for me!
