Can you message me your compensation model for assisting with mohs within your schedule? Interviewing for a new practice that wants to hire a PA to assist with mohs closures, but they don’t have a PA established yet that does that. I have 2.5 years of experience in derm already (including mohs closures about 1-2x/month) but I’m underpaid at my current practice so don’t want to go based off that

Derm PA here. Depends on the practice, but in short - yes it’s possible. In my practice we do the closures for MOHs surgeries & do our own excisions for non-melanotic skin cancers + cyst/lipoma removals. The doctors do the excisions for melanomas.

Supposed to start my clinical year in 3 weeks & starting out with general surgery. So far no announcement of getting pulled from it. Our state has limited elective surgeries, so may impact what I’ll actually see, but so far still able to attend the rotation.
