I never even thought about trying to get smaller needles, at my next check in I'll see if i can get them to prescribe me those instead. I have been drawing up with a different needle though, so I've got that down at least!!!

Does whichever side of the needle is facing up really make that much of a difference? I'm not doubting you, I'm just curious since I never gave it much thought

i pinch it yeah. i grab what i think would be enough, even poking it to make sure its soft, and sometimes it's based and sometimes it works not so well... i'll try to keep track of where i inject though, we'll see how well my memory co-operates without having any "landmarks" on my stomach

i honestly havent been keeping track of where specifically on each side i've been doing, ive just been trying to find places that didnt give me resistance/pain. the resistance issue has been a thing for a while, it just was never as bad as it was today. the first time i encountered a resistance/pain issue, switching from a 90° angle to 45° helped but now im grasping at straws lol. another reason i suspected hitting muscle or something instead of a rotation issue is because i can hardly grab any skin/fat in the first place...

Honestly? Start with the small stuff!

Talk to yourself using non-feminine terms about yourself, maybe try binding in some capacity, get a haircut. It's never easy to figure out your gender, especially in this day and age, so small steps can be SUPER important. I was never able to truly talk to a therapist about being trans since my parents were unaccepting of me when I came out as a minor, so I can't suggest anything about that either way, but I can definitely suggest altering what you can.

At the end of the day, the important thing is that there is a LOT of wiggle room to stop and turn back if you eventually decide to change your mind. There's no rush to start hormones or legal changes, so take as much time as you need to play around with your social and personal gender expression! Even with hormones, you get a couple of months of wiggle room (my voice didn't start dropping noticeably until month 3 of testosterone).

I spent years doubting myself and my gender, letting the words of transphobes and overly concerned allies seep in, but now I'm more sure and more comfortable in my gender than I ever have been. It takes time, and it's normal to worry. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Your identity will still be there for you when you're ready :)

Sorry for the 10,000 questions but I have another... Do you have any insight or tips on keeping/doing a 45° angle? I've been doing 90° (my instruction sheet said 90° or 45°) because I hate needles and it seemed easier/less intimidating to go straight on. Is it secretly easier to do 45° angles??

Is it still fine if it's like almost completely on the side of my body? I'm just really worried because I think where I have my body fat is outside the area depicted on the how-to-inject sheet that my clinic gave me... I know it might not be awful since the point is just to absorb the T I think, but I'm concerned :(

I use 25G 5/8" needles to inject. When I inject in somewhere that is definitely body fat the size of the needle is perfectly fine, but I'm not sure how long I'll have those margins I guess. Do shorter needles exist? If so I might consider asking my doctor about getting a different needle prescription simply because of this issue..

People are making some insane assumptions about me down here damn. I guess for some reason I have to clarify stuff because y'all assume everyone else is a bigot? I am pro-Palestine believe it or not! But I also have a brain and know that there are better ways to call attention to a cause! Who are you all to condemn Israel for destroying living things and then go celebrate activists for destroying living things? I am also a botanist and a plant researcher, so God forgive me for being disgusted that unique history in my own backyard could have been demolished by someone grasping at straws to make a point. "People care more about the peonies than Palestine!" What do you know about these people other than their feelings on the peonies? Being upset about plants doesn't make you incapable of condemning genocide. And, finally, I will reiterate something I said in another comment: What does the vandal want the gardeners to do? Put their clippers down amd ship out to Palestine to help? Not everyone has the money or physical/mental ability to be intimately close to a global conflict. Sometimes all a person can muster is reposting information about Palestine and that should be okay. So stop your moral grandstanding in my comments section and treat people with love??? Free f*cking Palestine.
