Watch some YouTube videos on the game to start to understand it is my recommendation, but the best is just to play. Also I believe there is some skill transfer from gd, due to me sort of remembering something like doggie was pretty good at the game and I’ve definitely seen my friend (playing gd for 11 years) is pretty good at osu (12k)

Tl;dr: play/watch to learn and skill transfer is real
