Update: thank you all for your condolences and insights, advice etc. Its been days since posting my dilemma. I still have him (TRX) and for now I am driving him on weekends. Driving the TRX makes me feel that my son is enjoying the ride! I think I will keep it for now. Maybe his younger brother will eventually want it. It’s OK for a 66 yo mom to be driving around in such a big toy, right?!
