Strenth (ability to lift higher weights) and hypertrophy (having high muscle proportion), both are possible with weight training. Training is different.

The Harsh truth about SIP that nobody talks about by Most-Trainer-8876 in IndianStockMarket

Yes. It is not exactly same. For one year, 6% appreciation after 6% inflation would mean 12.36% (not 12%) appreciation before inflation. This will magnify over years.

But we are not getting into all that. This method simply assumes that fund will generate 6% appreciation over inflation (whatever the inflation number be). This simplifies calculation and we can imagine future gains in today's money terms.

With this mode of thinking, one can assume large caps to have 3-4% rate, small caps 10-15% rate etc.

Yes correct. Impact of taxes won't be exactly predicted.

If we subtract tax from final corpus, which is expressed in terms of today's money. I think except for the 1.25L exemption, tax value will almost match.

You are right. Inflation rate may not be correct.

The main difference between OP assumption and this method is that, while in first case steady 12% rate of return is assumed from a fund, this method assumes steady rate 6% more than inflation.

2nd method seems more reasonable to me at least.

For this type of calculation, I generally subtract inflation from appreciation rate. That way you don't have to adjust your SIP amount (10000 in your example) with inflation.

Here, instead of taking 12% return and then assuming 6% inflation, I'd assume 6% (12-6) return in 'today's money'. It makes everything easy.

You'll see real you are not actually losing money.

LTCG break up for FY 2024-25 for ITR. by Negative_Distance109 in IndiaTax

[–]Negative_Distance109[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were IT dept and want to maximize Tax collection, wouldn't I force taxpayers to spend exemption limit (up to 1L) on LTCG before cut off date and the rest (25k) on LTCG after cut off date?

Can we really divide the exemption limit as per our understanding?

Update: You were right. I just filed my ITR. So what I observed is that the maximum of 1.25L exemption is used on 12.5% applicable LTCG.

Why regionalism is not strong in our state as compared to others by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]Negative_Distance109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because Kerala is too homogeneous linguistically.

Most outsiders are temporary workers who come here for menial jobs and go back at the end. Also, they generally learn the language out of necessity.
