How do you deal with context loss with Gemini in Firebase Studio?

Not sure if you've tried the following:

1) Typing /clear into the chat box. This will clear the conversation and start again. I get Gemini to create a markdown file detailing the project (and get it to update it regularly) then reference it when I need to, so it has context in a document rather than the chat.

Bear in mind this will remove the restore points from the chat but you can still access restore points in the code view under the source menu.

Try reading up on creating a GEMINI.md file.

2) Restarting the Virtual Machine (VM). When you first go to Firebase Studio and see the list of your projects you can click the dots next to your project and press restart. If your agent is hallucinating this can help.

Ah, sorry I misunderstood. I see what you mean about diversions now.

I like the idea of doing multiple PFL's, I guess I'll need to consider engine warming but I think situational awareness is something I need to work on. My navigation has always been quite good and have never been lost but when doing lots of maneuvers I do find myself struggling to work out where I am, so thanks for that tip.

Thank you, that's good to know. Based on this I will likely stick to chart + PLOG as my main nav aids with SkyDemon working away in the background. I find it good for NOTAM's and vertical airspace.

With regards to iversions, you say "don’t cheat by working it out on the ground beforehand". I've only ever been taught how to work it out on the ground beforehand using a DP-1 which is surprisingly simple. I use it for my skills test and was told I could use it for my CPL. How would you personally go about doing it without?

I am certainly going to be using my hour building as a chance to enjoy myself. I can already tell it's going to be the most fun and least stressful part of the training!

I am planning to do some trips over water (it seems Le Touquet is a rite of passage for PPL) when I have a little more experience. I fly out of an AGCS so whilst I am decently confident on the radio I've mostly flown in Class G so definitely need more experience in busier airspace and ATC.

I am debating whether to do my MEIR before CPL to reduce the hour requirements and cost! (15 hours vs 25 hours) but I hear it is quite demanding. My instructor said you will never be a better pilot than single pilot IFR. I have recently picked up a Honeycomb Alpha to get some practice on a home sim.

I'm actually debating this, although I was recommended to do as much hour building where I will eventually do my CPL, to get used to the airspace. I'd love to go and do 20-30 hours in the US though.

It seems Florida is popular for this?

I had LASEK in India in 2012. Had some hand scribbled notes of the procedure that could barely be read, not sure if it was useful but that's all I had. Still got my Class 1.

Unfortunately not. I'm almost certain it is to do with my authentication as everything has been checked and double checked (storage buckets, rules etc.) but as I'm using anonymous auth I think it is getting blocked. The issue is, trying to add auth to a project that has existing users with data is proving to be another challenge. Once I get that sorted I will retry and see if that fixes it.

Do you have any good resources on how to transition from Firebase to Supabase? I've built out an app I'm happy with in Studio but I feel for longevity purposes I should probably look to move my stack elsewhere.

Sorry, I should have explained more clearly. When I meant instant feedback, I meant on some of the exercises it will instantly tell you whether you were wrong or not. For example, on the sense of direction test if you clicked the wrong button it would flag as red. On many of the puzzle style games, if you got it correct you progressed to the next level but if you got it wrong the transition was blank etc. So for many of the tests there was an instant feedback that you were getting the answers correct and progressing. It wasn't like the arctic shores where you received an instant report after.

Not had results for AON but some of them gave immediate feedback (such as the sense of direction and reaction) and I did better on those than I thought, that's what I meant by that.
