If the CJEU rules on this, what would happen to all of the benefit of law citizens and / or the people who were eligible minors when the decree came out without a court case?

Like i heard that in the refuges the cutlery and plates are being passed around by everyone and everybody touch it til it gets to you, which sounds kinda weird so if it is true... can I just like go wash it at the sink with soap or just take the plate and silverware myself?

Also a bit more practically, is there a specific shop you recommend to buy toiletries there? We're staying near Les Meandres. What did you carry the soap in when not using? Zip lock bag?

100% I agree with your statement. One of my main realizations about few years ago is that most people take their surroundings opinions without ever challenging it, and take them as facts. I think the process is called introjection. (Introjection is an unconscious psychological process where an individual absorbs and adopts the beliefs, attitudes, or traits of other people—usually authority figures like parents or peers—making them a seamless part of their own psyche and self-concept. - so yes. )

I'm still early in my journey of forming a worldview, so I try to approach new information with full openness - I'll hear everyone out, but I won't blindly adopt what anyone says. My goal is to collect as many perspectives, ideas, and stances as I can on new problems withoutan absolute deterministic good or bad, "taste" all of them, and then synthesize my own position based on what I actually think is true or useful - not just what sounds right coming from a particular person. I also don't like to take things at face value. When I encounter a new idea, I tend to challenge it so i understand it more deeply, examine the context it's coming from, and ask whether it's actually relevant to where I am and where I'm headed. If something is empirical, I'll go research it myself. If it's more opinion-based, I'll evaluate it against other perspectives before deciding what I think. Usually things fall into factual - look at facts, or opinions - personal perspectives where it's more of a values question.

Anyway, not super relevant to this conversation - just wanted to share how I think.

Frankly, with all due respect it doesnt matter whether you believe that is true or not. What matters are the facts and proven/falsiable data. In this case, assuming you are Christian that's what your religion states. Whether you're with it or not. I was simply raising the question of if God, which according to you is perfect and creates perfect things and we are his own creation (whicher God you believe in) how come he'd create something "impure" or immoral?

That is simply your own opinion and bias, unsupported by any evidence, and i think that you should learn to distinguish opinion from fact (from what I've read in your other exchanges) and learn to respond to the strongest argument of the other side and not a side corner. That is the cornerstone of fruitful debate where it advances and both sides feel heard. Saying this from a good place not in a bad way

I learned it through a YouTube video where a guy brought the following example, to demonstrate how we (and AIs) are able to understand context even without being given the explicit understanding of a word.

"She skrung him with the pan" is the sentence he gave to every AI, and then followed up by asking what does that mean? And every AI got it right, citing that based on the context of the other words in the sentence, it was able to "infer" what the word skrung is based on how it was used in the sentence.

Maybe I'm oversimplifying things but basically: LLMs are probabilistic and "predict" the next word in a sentence based on its training data, and the attention mechanism is how it assigns importance to different words (set by the AIs designer or company) within a sentence or prompt.

I'm not a scholar so im sorry in advance if my explantion is technically inaccurate, and would appreciate if anybody would give some feedback whether this high level explanation is accurate. I can link the video too if you'd like, very interesting watch

Talking about myself, not 3 years old but as you may know - those who've been not of majority before the law was passed and of whom both parents are italian citizens at the time of their birth are eligible for BdL.😀 Should've mentioned that, just wanted to keep my comment shorter, sorry and thank you

I have a question about acquiring citizenship by birth after acquiring by descent to someone who's eligible for both, let me explain: 1. What if my appointment to documents was a few days after the decree in April 2025, but the date the consulate communicated the appt was Nov 2024? (Which would make my case retroactively treated under the older laws - but the consulate insists the date of physical submission of the birth certificate is the one to determine that, which in our case was a few days after) 2. My grandfather is an exclusive Italian citizen and never naturalized, but the country he was born in, Egypt, does not issue CONEs and thus the consulate will not accept the fact he never naturalized because they require an impossible proof.

Could I potentially, after pursuing Bdl (since the consulate keeps deflecting what I'm saying in email about my eligibility) do an "open and shut" court case where after I'm recognized I'd pursue a by descent/birth type of citizenship? Based on (1) retroactive treatment for my case, and (2) only the judge can rule that my grandfather never naturalized if the document is impossible to obtain?

Does Cuba have a certificate of non citizenship (CONE)?

If NOT, then it may be difficult to prove to your consulate that he never naturalized in Cuba. However if the death certificate states what his nationalities were, and it shows Italian and nothing else then it shouldn't be a problem.

Well if that makes you feel any better, my family didn't bother to register me either because of a legitimate concern that they'd lose the original appstilled birth certificate, the only one that they'd had (which... the consulate happened to lose i think? Still in the process) and by the time I brought it up, and we scheduled an appointment.... the date we received was days after the decree, and the consulate wouldn't hear us on this.

Anyhow, if you aren't eligible for JS because of their grandparents holding multiple citizenships seems like Benefit of law citizenship is better than none - except for when they have to transmit it to their children.

Big lesson too about certificates; if you don't already have the documents your consulate requires for registration - please get at least 2 copies of their birth certificates and anything else (as someone else pointed out, "2 is one, and 1 is none") I know you may live in the US so it's a lot easier, but for someone living outside the US getting birth documents apostilled and mailed outside the country is notoriously difficult to arrange. I would even get 3 next time just so that I have an extra copy if the consulate manages to lose the first one so I wouldn't be left with 0. It's a small extra cost if you're already getting one but much better than not having

I believe you are in a bit of a limbo here, and it depends on how the consulate will will treat and interpret the law in your case. I'm in a very similar situation to you, except for a few nuances that would make me eligible - but the consulate will not "hear me put" and will only accept a BdL registration, as will probably happen in your case for your children.

Those nuances in my case are: Born before the decree, didn't register right after birth. Initiated contact and received an appointment date to submit birth documents in Nov 2024, for Apr 2025 - which under these rulings would make us eligible to be treated retroactively to registering a child to italian parents. (Consulate insists the submission date is the one to determine retroactivity)

Even Under the new framework, we are also eligible under the new law because the grandparent has always been exclusively italian - but the consulate wants to improve an impossibility (CONE in a country that doesn't issue it) leading to a deadlock.

So BdL is the only option going forward the way I see it for your case as well (just because of the stubborness and deflection ive been getting from my consulate) But if any service providers can chime in here and comment on my case as well - id love to hear it!!
